L’Oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil

WhereI got it: I bought this from my local Shampoo and Things in Botany. I went in to buy the Sève Protectrice but the lady told me about the value pack which you purchase the shampoo and conditioner from the Mythic Oil range and you get the Sève Protectrice for free! The pack was $60.50 and the Sève Protectrice is RRP $31.00.

What I got: The pack comes with 3 full sized products from the L’Oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil range. It contains a 250ml pump bottle of the shampoo, a 150ml pump bottle if the conditioner and a 150ml tube of the Sève Protectrice.

L’Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil Shampoo, Conditioner and Sève Protectrice

How I find it:

Mythic Oil Shampooing. This nourishing shampoo is enriched with Argan Oil and Cotton Seed Oil, both known for their light weight yet nourishing and disciplining properties. This shampoo will make hair more nourished and shiny. Ideal for all hair types.  I use about 3 pumps for my pass-shoulder length hair. When my hair is quite greasy, I would need to repeat shampooing. It creates a nice lather and smells really nice!

Mythic Oil Conditioner. This nourishing conditioner is enriched with Argan Oil and Cotton Seed Oil, both known for their light weight yet nourishing and disciplining properties. This conditioner will rejuvenate dull hair and give it indulgent shine.  You are suppose to towel dry your hair and apply this conditioner and leave it on for 3 minutes then rinse off. I seldom have the time to towel dry my hair, apply conditioner and wait for 3 minutes so I always just use it as a usual conditioner. However, I must say that I have tried using it as per instructions and my hair feels fantastic! I guess I probably need to use another conditioner if I am lazy and leave this one when I have time to take care of my hair because it will be such a waste if I don’t use it properly. Regardless, the conditioner feels lightweight and not thick and greasy and slippery. Therefore it is easily rinsed off.

Mythic Oil Sève Protectrice ($31.00). 1st nourishing oil-in-cream for blow drying hair, with heat protection up to 230°c. Wrap your hair in a nurturing protection to restore it’s whole vigor. Enriched with black cumin oil, this cream wraps hair with a nurturing and protective velvet, to protect from heat aggressions.   This product is the reason I got to the shop and what took my interest was the “oil-in-cream”. It seems like
“oil-in something” is making a trend with this hair care and the YSL Volupte Tint-in-oil! From the tube, it looks like a usual leave-in conditioning cream. Once I spread it around my palms and onto my hair, the cream melts into my hair, protecting and nourishing. I work it into my ends and mid lengths, I don’t need much close to my oily roots. I then comb my hair and blow dry with low heat (I could use medium to high heat, but I prefer not). I could also use a straightening or curling iron too because this is already a heat protecting cream! My hair becomes so soft and smooth and not weighted down at all! None of that heavy and sticky feeling. Just make sure you don’t use too much!

Mythic Oil Sève Protectrice

Overall: I absolutely love all three products! My favourite would be the Protectrice because I love a protecting cream for when I blow dry because I do everytime I wash my hair. The range all have the same nice floral scent which I absolutely love! The packaging is beautiful but the quantity is a little bit small. I wish it was a bit cheaper because I go through shampoo and conditioner so fast! The shampoo cleanses my hair without over-drying, but most of the time I do need to double-shampoo my hair due to oily scalp and I only wash it every other day. As for the conditioner, it is suppose to be a sort of a treatment that you leave on, but I don’t have time so I just leave it on for about 1-2 minutes in the shower with a shower cap on. The Protectrice is really long lasting as I only need a small amount for my mid-length and ends. I also use it on my frizzy areas after blowdrying to keep them under control.
