The Ordinary Marine Hyaluronics

Where I got it: I ordered this from the Deciem website directly for USD$10.90. I usually get my Ordinary products from VictoriaHealth.com, but they have discontinued stocking their products, so I decided to go straight to the source. Shipping took about a week.

What I got: This is a 30ml bottle of The Ordinary Natural Moisturising Factors + HA. Marine Hyaluronics brings together lightweight marine-derived water reservoirs that attract and hold water like hyaluronic acid (HA) but are lighter than HA in texture and feel. The formula contains exopolysaccharides from skin-friendly marine bacteria, Hawaiian red algae, Glycoproteins from Antarctic marine sources, micro-filtered blue-green algae and several health-supporting amino acids. All marine derivatives in Marine Hyaluronics are sourced sustainably. The total concentration of active ingredients in this formula is 23%.

How I find it: The texture and consistency of this hyaluronic acid was unexpectedly thin and fluid. It felt watery with a hint of scent and on the skin it is absorbed quickly without leaving a film not does it make the skin feel dry. You can then apply other heavier serums or moisturiser or facial oils on top.

If you prefer a more viscous formula, Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 might be something you would want to try.

Overall: I always feel that I needed a hyaluronic serum because they provide effective hydration and are often non-greasy and non-oily. This serum is exactly that and super lightweight too! Even though it may feel like you are putting nothing on your skin but when you have a direct comparison like half of your face with the serum and the other half not, you can see a big difference. I will always have a hyaluronic acid serum in my skincare routine but it doesn’t necessarily mean that I have this particular one from The Ordinary.
