Lancôme Rénergie H.C.F Triple Serum

Where I got it

I bought this in April last year (2022), during the Easter weekend Life Pharmacy did a 15% off all fragrance and beauty offers as well as 20% off all Lancome products. You also get Life reward points with your purchase. Sometimes I love a gift with purchase, but with Lancome, their GWP always contains mascara and perfume that I don’t use. Sometimes also a lipstick that I don’t use. Therefore I prefer a good discount on one product that I want to try or use. I also like this offer because I don’t have to force myself to spend more money on another product to get a gift.  You can get this at most Lancome counters and online retailers like The Market (sign up link here for a $20 coupon for both of us when you sign up, you don’t even need to make a purchase).

This serum was RRP$204, and after 20% off, it came down to $163.20 with a $10 voucher. I have recently checked prices and it has increased to $228! I could not believe it, I never knew they had a price increase!

How I find it

First of all, the bottle of this serum looks so futuristic. The mirror finish, silver-purple ombre bottle has a clear plastic cap. The nozzle has 3 holes to dispense 3 different formulas. Each formula is housed in 3 tubes within a single bottle, and one pump will dispense the same amount of serum. This serum is certainly a work of art.

Now in terms of the ingredients in this serum, it has hyaluronic acid, which is in the creamy emulsion. You can see when you pump it out, there are clearly 3 different formulas. Hyaluronic acid is nothing revolutionary and we see it in a lot of skincare products already. However, it is something that is very beneficial to all skin types. It hydrates the skin by pulling moisture from the outside, into the skin. So I like to mist my skin before and after I apply the serum and apply a moisturiser to seal everything in.

Then the lighter lotion-emulsion formula you see, which is lighter compared to the creamy emulsion is the vitamin C +Niacinamide. Now Niacinamide (or vitamin B3) is also great for all skin types. It is gentle, skin barrier strengthening and reduces the over-production of sebum, and reduces the look of pores, etc. It just has tonnes of benefits for all skin types. The Vitamin C in this formula is 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, which is a highly stable form of vitamin C, meaning it will remain stable for a longer time. Lastly, Ferulic acid is an antioxidant and antibacterial ingredient. Well-know to stabilise vitamin C and research shows it doubles the photo-protection of vitamin C.

The formula also contains some mica and titanium dioxide to give that light-reflecting property to the serum. It also has a light fragrance if anyone is concerned. None of these really bother me or my skin, so I am fine with it.

Lancôme Rénergie H.C.F Triple Serum

I finally started using this in late July (2023) when I ran out of another multi-active serum. I have loved serums that contain multiple ingredients targeting different concerns. I have been using this during the day and I have been using an AHA/BHA serum at night and sometimes a retinol product as well. I don’t need any other serums over or underneath this one and I’m ready for moisturiser and SPF. This serum feels like a lightweight lotion providing moisture to the skin. It feels smooth to spread out and is absorbed easily without sitting on top of my skin.

Overall

I really love this bottle of serum sitting on my vanity, it looks really fancy and the overall experience of using this serum has been wonderful. I really like the texture and that it is a 3-in-1 product. The serum is really hydrating without putting extra heaviness on the skin. The vitamin C and niacinamide provide brightening benefits to my skin and overall brighten my skin. I am not very familiar with ferulic acid in skincare, but I know that it is an ingredient for discolouration, and brightening and a booster for vitamins C & E. Therefore this should further improve the effects of skin brightening and dark-spot fading. I love using something like this in the wintertime because I am less likely to be out in the sun, therefore it is the best time to catch up on skin brightening and dark spot fading. As always, I use SPF50 on a daily basis as prevention.
