Heimish PR box – Artless Glow Base, Artless Perfect Glow Cushion, etc.

Where I got it

Heimish reached out to me for a one-off collaboration and they asked me to choose 3 items from a list they offered and I picked these items. I have previously tried Heimish products before and one that stands out the most would have to be the cleansing balm xxx. It does the job perfectly and easily and it is a very good value product. Even though I love cleansing balms, I also love sunscreen. So I picked a glowy sunscreen, a cushion foundation and a pressed setting powder.

While we do not have a Heimish shop or stall in New Zealand (not that I know of), I have seen a good range of Heimish products in some local K-beauty shops and online stores like Hikoco, Sunday Ritual, YesStyle and The Cosmetics Store. While not all stores stock the entire range, you are able to get this brand easily online worldwide.

How I find it

Let’s start with the Artless Glow Base. With SPF50 PA+++ this would give ample protection if I am able to apply a proper amount. As a glowy base product, I am expecting a dewy glow with a moisturising effect to be an effecitve makeup base. I am not expecting an oil-controlling or blurring base because it is clearly not what the name suggests. I have high hopes and a good expectation for Korean sunscreens that they are lightweight, moisturising and generally without any white-cast and very pleasant to use. This product ticked all the boxes with a very faint scent. It does leave a glowy finish that is dewy instead of glittery or sparkly. On my hands, I could see a little bit of light-reflecting pigments, but on the face, it is hardly detectable.

It is really nice as a suncreen, but it is a bit too dewy for my preference for work and going out. Therefore I would use the pressed setting powder that I will cover further in this post. This does not have a “tone-up” effect so if you are worried about any white-cast, you need not worry with this one.

Next, the Perfect Glow Cushion with SPF50. Now I wouldn’t just use this cushion foundation as my only source of sun protection, but it is an added bonus over the Artless Glow Base. As usual, K-beauty cushion foundations shade spectrum leans to fair tones. I have shade xxx which is maybe half a shade lighter for my skin tone right now, but it still works. If your skin tone is anything deeper than mine, I would not recommend.

As usual, it comes with a refill that is sealed in foil packaging. I absolutely love the compact with the jewel-like reflective case in a pinky colour, it comes with a typical cushion foundation puff with a separator. The cushion had a lot of product and it was easy to get product from a gentle press. It gives sheer coverage, buildable to a medium. I prefer to go for sheer coverage because it would look a little too pale on me and a little too dewy on my skin. It evens out some of my discolorations and imperfections, but does not really cover my dark circles or anything that required heavier coverage.

The foundation is not long-wearing and it does transfer, but it gradually fades without looking patchy or streaky. Reapplication with the cushion would be easy to do and would not look patchy as well. I would also use a pressed powder over the top (personal preference). You could easily use this as touch up on the go and it would be great for travelling, but obviously I would bring a pressed powder with me if I need to touch up.

Finally, the Pressed Setting Powder. This is a translucent setting powder with no coverage and no pigment, therefore is suitable for all skin tones. It is a white pressed power with a hint of what looks like iridescent, but it’s not at all. There is no sheen or glow from this pressed powder whatsoever. Personally, I am not familiar with pressed powders and I do not recall ever using a pressed setting powder. I have no idea what to expect except that I might transfer oil onto the compact and hard-pan it and never be able to use it again.

I have used foundation compacts before and they always do that on me and I hate them. Foundation compacts are usually for oily skin so they can be quite drying as well. I have combination skin so I do like a little bit of mattifying and setting down any base makeup that is dewy or moisturising. I like to have a bit of control mainly on my nose and sides of my nose where my pores are large. A little on my forehead never hurt nobody as well.

The little flat puff is also a bit of a surprise for me too as it is slightly velety so when I swipe left and right on the powder, it will pick up a sheer layer of product – not too much and not too little. Then I just press it onto the area I need to set and just press to blend out. Skin is immediately blurred out and lightly mattified – not flat matte, but a petal matte.

Overall

It has been a little while since I last tried korean makeup products, whist I love korean skincare products. I love the makeup base with SPF, but I was equally impressed by the cushion foundation. I always hear about “creamy skin” from the Eastern beauty world, and it is a highly sought-after kind of look on the skin. Skin literally looks like cream and that is the glowy, flawless look on the skin. It makes the skin looks super healthy, plump and smooth. I would say that if you have pretty good skin condition, this cushion foundation would give you exactly that.

Even if you have some flaws on your skin like small pimples and texture, the cushion is able to give you a good medium coverage with that dewy finish. It is not drying so it won’t accentuate dry patches. The application allows for even coverage and layering so you are less likely to apply way too much and looking cakey. If you love that dewy, glowy look, this combo with the base and cushion is perfect.

My daily makeup with Heimish products

Now with the pressed setting powder, this sets my skin perfect without looking full-on matte or feeling dry. The translucent powder is great without adding cover or colour on the skin, not even a white cast. I have been using this pressed setting powder on top of other foundations and it works just as good. This is fantastic for on-the-go and traveling.

Once again, thank you Heimish for sending these to me. I am glad that I have tried all of these products and would definitely repurchase these products in the future.
