Cover Fx Custom Cover Drops

Where I got it: I heard of this product first from I think either Wayne Goss or GlamLifeGuru on YT. I was extremely interested! After checking out their website I was a little disappointed that they do not ship to New Zealand. Plus they are not exactly cheap and they have so many different shades to choose from I didn’t want to buy a shade that I’m not sure if it will match me. Then I found out a website called Beautylish stock these and would offer free shipping to NZ if you purchase over USD $100. PLUS they also sent me samples of 2 of my closest shades – G20 and G30! So after I’ve tried the samples, I made my decision to get G30 along with the Charlotte Tilbury Film Star Bronze & Glow (review coming soon!). It was USD $ 44.00 and it is cheaper than getting it on places like BeautyBay.

What I got: I purchased the Cover Fx Custom Cover Drops in G30. These Custom Drops comes in so many different shades basically in 3 undertones – neutral, golden and pink. So G30 is a golden (yellow) undertone shade close to an NC30. Actually I can also wear G20 but I tan easily do when summer comes I want to be able to wear this without looking too pale or sickly. This is a 15ml bottle with a dropper to dispense the product. It may sound pricey for such a little bottle, but thinking that you only need to use 1-4 drops (depending on your coverage preference) each time, this will last me for a long long time!

How I find it: Initially when I tried on the samples, they were a little dried up in the pots, but I managed to swipe some products out for about 3 uses from each pot (I got for light/medium coverage). I mixed it in with my moisturiser or my sunscreen. The Custom Cover Drops do not contain SPF so it will be great for flash photography, but I do find that I have a bit of problem using it at day time if I need to apply a sunscreen after my moisturiser, I cannot mix this into my moisturiser.. I would either need to use a moisturiser with sunscreen or mix this in with my primer.. Or I can mix it up with a bit of moisturiser and a bit of sunscreen!!

Anyway, I would put my moisturiser on my hand, then use 2 drops for an everyday light coverage. I love to apply this with my fingertips, but I would also use my beauty blender or even a flat top kabuki brush to buff it in.

Wearing Cover Fx Custom Cover Drops in G30

Overall: Very innovative and versatile product and the shade range is just impressive! I love how you can mix it in with your moisturiser or foundation or primer or even an oil to create your own BB cream/foundation etc. Just be careful not to use too much on the first go because it is just so pigmented with 2 drops! I love the medium cover with 2 drops mixed with my moisturiser. It gives a nice glow without feeling I’ve piled on products and I can always control the coverage. This would be a great product for almost all skin types. However, I have tried to dab this directly to my under eye area with my fingertips and it is rather drying to my skin! Make sure, if you have even slightly dry skin, use a moisturiser or mix it with a moisturiser because it is a little drying and will cling onto dry areas!
