YSL Vernis  Lèvres Rebel Nudes Glossy Stain

Where I got it: I got this at a YSL counter in Hong Kong while I was there for a holiday. It was HKD $295. Which is about NZD $53.

What I got: This is YSL Vernis  Lèvres Rebel Nudes Glossy Stain in 102 Coral Mutin. YSL’s first glossy stain with reflective shine. Weightless feel. Long lasting color. 3D Luminosity. Glossy Stain Rebel Nudes captures the revolutionary formala of Glossy Stain and combines with Euphotic Colored Light technology to allow light to pass through and give an all day luminous 3D effect.

How I find it: This is pretty much my perfect nude shade with a hint of shimmer! When I need more colour, I apply a brighter tint underneath then apply this over the top. Sometimes I like to wear this by itself as well. It is not very glossy, but it does leave a nice stain on the lips. This shade leaves a very natural tint that is so close to my lip colour so once the gloss is rubbed off or faded, the color is still there.

Overall: I love the shade of this glossy stain, but it does leave a slightly heavy feeling on the lips and it is a little tacky when my lips press together. It is not high gloss, but a subtle one. If you don’t blot or press your lips together after application, the gloss is actually quite nice and it is buildable. I like to apply a single layer or up to 2 layers because of the thick feeling of the gloss on my lips. Colour options are mainly on the nude and natural shades hence the name “nudes”. Even with the perfect colour-match, I wouldn’ repurchase this simply because of the feeling it gives on my lips. If the formula is slightly different or is YSL has this shade in another range, I would definitely try it out.
