Where I got it : I got this from my last Beauty Review Beauty Vault order. This retails for $15.99 and I used 160 review points to exchange it.
What I got : This is a 198ml pump bottle of the Neutrogena’s Pore Refining Daily Cleanser. It contains Alpha Hydroxy acid to break down dead skin cells and Beta Hydroxy acid to cut through oil and clean deep into the pores. The bottle claims to reduce pore size significantly within a week!
How I find it: After removing my makeup, I use a pump of this gel cleanser on my damp hands or on my Clarisonic Mia. Then I work it up to a lather which is very easy. Then I massage directly onto my skin. Wash off. The cleanser is a bit drying so make sure you follow on with the rest of your skincare soon otherwise your skin will get really dry.
Overall : Love the pump bottle, it is so convenient. There is no fragrance in the cleanser, but it does smell slightly chemically which I don’t really mind. It’s a good cleanser to ensure you clean all the residue off and best for oily and combination oily skin. I think normal skin would find this ok as well, but you may need to alternate this with something more gentle. As the AHA and BHA content in the cleanser is not very high, it is not too harsh but does the job right. I didn’t get their toner because it contains quite a bit of alcohol and I don’t want to use much alcohol on my skin. I love Neutrogena products and especially their pore refining range – I have used their older pore refining formula and those work great! I wonder why they don’t have the moisturiser anymore? Would be great to have the entire set!
