As soon as I watched the Youtube video by BeautyNews that compared this year’s Snowflushed and last year’s Stylishly Merry, I knew I had to get this new limited edition Extra Dimension Skin Finish from the 2018 Holiday collection. They officially launched on 5th November 2018 and it is a collection of 2 skin finishes. This is RRP $66.

What I got
I picked up the MAC Pretty Shiny Things 2018 Extra Dimensions Skin Finish in Snowflushed. A liquid-powder highlighter with prismatic reflections, designed to sculpt and highlight your face for a luminous, defined finish. The creamy powder formula lasts up to ten hours. Pressed with a holiday bow imprint and specially designed in a shiny pretty metallicized packaging.

How I find it
After watching the Beauty News video on Youtube, I fell in love with this. Last year, this exact shade and formula was a single eyeshadow, it was sold out almost immediately and people loved it for the colour-shifting properties. MAC re-packaged it as an Extra Dimension Skin Finish and called it a different name.
If you haven’t used an Extra Dimension Skin Finish or any Skin Finish by MAC, it is more or less like an overall face finishing powder, in this case, it is a shimmery finishing powder. However, as with all makeup, you can usually use it other ways as well. This can obviously be a highlighter for the cheekbones, or an eyeshadow (like Stylishly Merry from last years collection).

I would say this is a shimmery pink with a gold shift. It has a creamy formula and the surface of the powder appears to crumble a little when I sweep my face brush over it a couple of times. As you can see the surface of the powder is not smooth, but a little rough. But that does not transfer to the skin at all.

Overall
This is indeed a really beautiful product, but since it is high shine and shimmery, I don’t think I would ever use this as an overall face powder unless I am going to a costume party. I have texture on my face like acne scarring and enlarged pores and using a shimmery powder like this would accentuate my texture and make it stand out!
I like to use this as a highlighter, as an eyeshadow or inner corner highlight. I also use this as a body highlighter over my collar bones and it looks amazing. Overall, I love this product and I would buy the skin finish over the small eyeshadow pan any day.
