Maybelline Brow Satin

Where I got it: I bought this from my local Farmers for $16.99 while they were having a buy 1 get 1 half price promotion. You should be able to find Maybelline products from most Life Pharmacy, Farmers, supermarkets and pharmacies.

What I got: This is the Maybelline Brow Satin in Dark Brown. Maybelline’s Brow Satin Define and Fill Duo, the champion of filled-in brows. The dual ended Brow Satin includes a setting pencil to define and set brows as well as a powder to fill gaps. The result? Naturally fuller-looking brows with a soft, matte finish. Comes in Dark Blonde, Medium Brown and Dark Brown.

How I find it: This has a retractable brow pencil on one side and a powder on the other side with a sponge tip applicator. The pencil side has a clip-on cap and the powder side has a screw on cap. The pencil is really fine and is on the hard side. It can create hair-like strokes to imitate real brow hairs and then you can fill in the sparse areas with the powder to create a really natural soft look. The sponge tip applicator is loaded in a spring mechanism so it picks up just the right amount of powder onto the tip and when you apply the powder, it won’t deposit too much pigment or disrupt the strokes you did with the pencil. You can either use them on its own or use them both.

Overall: Dark brown is certainly my shade for something much more subtle (compared to something like a pomade). The pencil can really create fine lines, but however, it can get a bit hard so I usually like to do a few strokes on the back of my hand to warm it up before I draw on my brows. The powder is easy to control and you can build up the intensity.
