Where I got it: I ordered this online from Splashstore.net while they were having a 25% off one day sale. They are usually $8.95. I ordered this on 26/1 and they arrived on 31/1.
What I got: I got the Covergirl Lashblast Length Waterproof Mascara in Black 830. Not much information can be found on Covergirl’s website, but I managed to find these:
- Our longest brush yet takes lashes up to 80% longer vs bare lashes
- Our unique Elasta-Nylon formula flexes without flaking so lashes hold their length all day
- Preferred 4-to-1 over the leading lengthening mascara for flaking
How I find it: I love waterproof mascaras or even those tubing mascaras which you remove with water because I just don’t do well with normal mascara. They smudge, flake, melt and migrate to my undereye area and it pisses me off. It happens to every mascara, sometimes even waterproof ones. So I have my fingers crossed for this waterproof one! I like to wear mascara even when I’m not wearing eyeshadow or eye liner. I curl my lashes and apply 2 coats. I avoid over 2 coats because I hate spidery and clumpy lashes and they tend to weight my lashes down. This mascara has a slim, soft-ish plastic/rubber wand that is semi-soft. The mascara formula is on the dry side and gives a matte finish to the lashes. It separates and coats Lightly but evenly while lengthening.
Overall: I love the slim packaging and the slim wand which is great for my short lashes. The dry formula works great for separating my lashes which seem to volumise them as well. The wand doesn’t pick up too much product so it doesn’t overload my lashes when applied. However, it does weight my lashes down and doesn’t really hold my curls. As for wear, it wears amazingly well without flaking, smudging or melting. Through the day the mascara stays put even with the hot summer days here in New Zealand right now. Easily removed with cleansing oil or oil based makeup remover.
