Lipidol Suntan Oil

Where I got it: I bought this from Farmers for $9.95. I have previously tried their Cleansing Body Oil and I really like it so I decided to try their Suntan (Sunscreen) oil and their Cleansing Face Oil.

What I got: This is a 125ml plastic bottle of Lipidol Suntan Oil (SPF20 UVA/UVB)Supplements the skin’s natural oily layer stripped away by sun, wind and water. Contains Cypress and Basil essential oils fragrance. The oil is slightly blue, but that does not show on the skin.

How I find it: Initially, when I saw its name “Suntan Oil” I thought it was a tanning oil, but it is actually a sunscreen oil. The plastic bottle is squeeze-able so you can dispense the oil easily. I use about a $2 coin size for each arm and leg. It takes a while to be absorbed and it leaves a slight oily sheen on the skin for a while, but it doesn’t feel sticky.

Overall: Not sure how well it protects my skin from UV rays because it is quite different to traditional sunscreen, but it is very interesting! It feels lightweight on the skin as if I am wearing nothing at all. It doesn’t transfer on clothes and seems to moisturise my skin as well. However, it doesn’t give me much confidence that it will block out UV rays so I think I’m going to go back to more traditional sunscreens for the meantime.
