Elle & Riley Cashmere Silk Short Sleeve Cardigan

Where I got it

I ordered this in July from Elle & Riley Cashmere as it was on sale from $498 down to $100! This is not full cashmere, but a cashmere and silk blend. I have other piece from Elle & Riley before and mostly I get them when they are on sale because cashmere pieces are not cheap.

What I got

This is the Elle & Riley Cashmere Silk Short Sleeve Cardigan in size S, colour is camel with cream tipping. Described as “A classic short sleeve cardigan made from our Cashmere Silk Collection, this yarn is silky soft. Wear it on its own or layer over your favourite tank or dress.”

This piece has relaxed fit and it is 15% OEKO-TEX cashmere and 85% silk. It was also available in size XS, M, L, and XL. Also available in ivory colour.

How I find it

As you can see the cardigan is slightly long-line, especially on my petite frame. The front opening is quite low, the first button sits just under my chest bone, and the lower part is a little slouchy, so it is more of a relaxed, laid-back style of cardigan. I could wear a plain tank top or a short sleeve shirt inside, and pair it with some jeans or some light coloured pants. You could also pair it with knit pants or a pair of satin or silk skirt. It is a style that you can just let it drape or tuck it in a little for some definition.

The silk and cashmere blend is so silky smooth and soft! I already have a long sleeve top in this same fabric from Elle & Riley and it is the most comfortable piece to wear on transitional weather. The fabric is lightweight and airy, so it’s very summery as a light cover-up over a summer tank top. It has two pockets at the front which I won’t carry anything heavy as it would weight down the cardigan. It’s cute and I love the white edges on the sleeves and around the edge. You can wear it unbuttoned, or you can do up a couple of those pretty tortoises shell buttons.

I love the camel colour which can pair so well with other colours in my wardrobe. Pairs well with white, ivory, camel, browns, denim, even army green, or navy blue. The color-combos are endless without looking obnoxious. The camel and ivory detailing just makes it really easy to pair and instantly look expensive.

Overall

A very gorgeous piece suitable for the summer season and transitional season. The quality is great and since it is not 100% cashmere, it doesn’t provide a lot of warmth on its own. This makes a great layering piece if you want a little bit more warmth.

I have yet to wear this on a day to day basis because we are in the middle of winter right now. So I might do an update when I get to wear it a couple of times.
