Where I got it

Anua reached out to me to send me a package of their brand new collagen masks as well as other skincare products to try. They do request for an IG reel from me to demonstrate how to use this mask and to reveal how it makes my skin look and feel after removing the mask. In this post, I will be reviewing the Rice 70 + Glow Collagen Mask, Heartleaf 70 + Hyaluron Soothing Collagen Mask, and Peach 70 + Niacin Brightening Collagen Mask.

Rice 70 + Glow Collagen Mask.  Infused with Rice Water and Low molecular (300Da) collagen , this hydrogel moisturizing mask delivers deep hydration and a radiant glow. How I find it

The first one I tried out was the Rice 70 + Ceramide because my skin needed some glow and plumping action. The hydrogel mask sheet has some grain-looking bits in it. The bits don’t really do anything, it’s just for looks. After cleansing and toning, I always use either a hydrating serum or a Reedle shot serum underneath the hydrogel mask so that the serum can be absorbed into the skin. Also to prevent the drying of the hydrogel mask to dry out my skin. The mask sheet dries up pretty much between the 1hr to 2hr mark. By the 3rd hour the dried parts are already starting to detach from my skin where my face has been moving around.

Once I remove the mask, my skin feels hydrated, and looks pretty good. Not super dewy, but it was ok. The mask sheet was about 80% dried with overlapped areas still semi-opaque and soft.

Next I tried the Heartleaf 70 + Hyaluron. This is supposed to be soothing and hydrating, so it can be used anytime you have sensitivity, redness, even when you have breakouts and your skin barrier feels compromised. It should soothe irritated skin. As per usual, I layer some serum underneath the hydrogel mask and this time I left it on for just 2 hours because I don’t like the feeling of the dried up hydrogel mask on my face and the extra hour didn’t do much for my skin.

Once I remove the mask, my skin feels the same as it did with the rice mask. There wasn’t any particular difference between this one and the rice mask. I did not have any skin irritation or redness to calm down, so I cannot testify to its claims. The mask did leave my skin hydrated.

Lastly, the Peach 70 + Niacin mask. This mask is supposed to help brighten skin tone and repair skin barrier. We all know the goodness of niacinamide, and I believe this is the mask version of their peach serum. Again, I leave this on for only 2 hours and I like to layer either another Reedle shot serum or another serum underneath. Pretty similar results after removing the mask, I couldn’t see much of a difference from the other two.

Overall

I think overall the masks are hydrating and plumping, but unless I use these on a daily basis, I am unable to see a remarkable difference between the 3 masks. They all feel the same when applied and after removal. I am not a huge fan of hydrogel masks because it never turns out to be this glass-like, perfect skin for me when I remove it. The longer I leave it on, the dryer my skin gets. I find that perfect sweet-spot of 1-2hrs is enough and I need to make sure I apply a serum beforehand.

I cannot imagine leaving this mask on overnight, that wouldn’t do my skin any good. Sometimes I wonder why it doesn’t work for me as well as others online? Is it because they already have amazing, dewy skin? Is it because of their environment? Nevertheless, I kept using these box of masks until they are finished, but I wouldn’t buy them again. I much prefer cloth masks, ones that do not dry up even when I have it on for 40mins.
