Aromatherapy Associates Moments to Pause

Where I got it

During the nationwide level 4 lockdown 2.0 in New Zealand, More Than Skin did an amazing offer for any purchase over $200, they will put in a free gift of this Moments To Pause set which is a set of 3 roller ball essential oils with a travel leather pouch. Right when the rest of NZ (except Auckland) went down to level 3, they were able to ship it out and I got my hands on it the day after it was shipped! I ordered two Bath and Shower Oils for this order and this free set was worth $105. I believe More Than Skin Spa is the only place in New Zealand to purchase AA products (except for overseas online stores).

What I got

This is the Aromatherapy Associates Moments To Pause Set. It contains 3x xxml size roller balls of their essential oils in – Revive Morning, De-Stress Mind and Deep Relax. I have tried all 3 of these scents already from the Wellbeing Discovery Set I got a few weeks ago.

How I find it

I already know that I enjoy all of these scents as I have tried the bath and shower oils already. I was really expecting to be able to apply these scents in a concentrated format so I can enjoy the scent during the day. The faux leather pouch certainly adds a delicate touch, but you can always take one at a time, but I would recommend taking the pouch with you as the glass bottle is delicate.

I usually prefer Revive Morning during the day, even in the afternoon. It brighten up my mood and perks me up for the day or a pick-me-up after midday. De-stress is a good one when I’m having a stressful day to relax. It really soothes me and calms me down. The Deep Relax is something I would reserve in the weekend where I have more time to relax and enjoy a longer aromatherapy session. I love using this in the evening after a shower and just chill for the night.

All of these are really beautiful and so easy to use. It’s not greasy or oily as the rollerball dispenses just the right amount. However, I would say they are a little less concentrated as I would expect. The scent does linger for a short while and dissipate within the half an hour. Of course you can reapply, but I would expect the scent to last at least an hour or so and be quite strong that I can smell even when I apply to the back of my ear or neck.

Overall

I really do enjoy these, but I was a little disappointed that the scent was not as concentrated as I would have expected. If you compared this to the bath and shower oil, the rollerball is significantly less intense. I would recommend applying the bath and shower oil instead. Just dab the oil with my fingertips onto my wrist, behind the ear, back of the neck or down the neck. This way, the scent will be more intense and long-lasting, but not greasy and oily-looking.

I probably won’t get more of the rollerballs in the future, but I would definitely try and decant some of the bath and shower oil in the rollerball when it runs out! If you are looking for a good soothing, and calming rollerball essential oil, I would highly recommend Aesop Ginger Flight Therapy. It smells of geranium, lavender and ginger to instantly calms and soothes your sense. It is a little oily, but it lasts!
