ColourPop Sweet Talk Palette

Where I got it

This palette has been in my radar for a long time now, ever since I think either Tati or someone on YouTube was raving about it. The shade story of this palette is quite pretty, something I would wear everyday with a bit of a glittery kick to it. I ordered this on the ColourPop website for $14.40 when they had 20% off (usually $18). I ordered this on Friday and got shipping email on Tuesday. Delivered on Thursday!

How I find it

There are 3 different formulas in here: super shock shadows (iconic ColourPop formula), pressed powder and pressed glitter. The super shock shade is 1.45g, the pressed powders are 0.9g and the pressed glitters are 1.0g each.

Here are the shade swatches, from the top row to bottom. Unfortunately, these are from right to left.

Work it: soft matte yellow-orange (pressed powder). Garden date: metallic coral with a gold sheen (super shock). Side2side: warm champagne with silver and pink glitter (pressed powder – metallic). Catch me: matte pastel peach (pressed powder)

Overall

Here are a few looks I created using this palette. If you don’t know already, I lean towards quick and easy eye looks with no more than 3 shades and nothing too fancy or too dark. I like to use a light tone all over as base, intensify that with a medium tone and darken the outer corner with a deeper tone sometimes. Then I always like to add shimmer or metallic shade to the centre of the eye. I rarely apply any eyeshadow to my undereye area because that would make me look older, or just plain messy.

Catch Me as an all-over base. Meadow all over the lid area just under the crease. Intensified the outer corner with Westside. Side2side to the inner corners.

I really like the colour theme of this palette, it is easy to create romantic looks and soft glam looks. The colours are not intimidating and can easy be used by beginners as well as more advance makeup artists (those glitters!). You need to be really careful with the glitters because they do fall out eventually, so I would recommend using an eyeshadow primer or a glitter primer to make sure they are stuck down. Otherwise, I think all the glitter and shimmery shades are just gorgeous and the matte shades complements them very well.

Work it as an all-over base, Westside as the main colour and lightly applied Feel Free to the outer corners. No metallic or shimmers.

Using West Side all over the lid area and adding intensity to the outer edges with ICYMI and Feel Free

Overall, a palette that I really like and I think I will be bringing this palette with me on my cruise holiday very soon. I’m not sure how much time I have for makeup, but with this palette, I can jazz up my look with just a single shade or two and then pop some glitter on top and I’m good to go! Too bad this palette doesn’t have a mirror and I just don’t get why not? A mirror would complete this palette for me.  ColourPop does great discounts sitewide all the time, so next time they have anything like a 20% off, grab the palette!
