Paula’s Choice Resist Advanced Replenishing Toner

Where I got it

I ordered this on the Paulaschoice.com.au website while they were doing a cleanser and toner offer (20% off, mix and match). I chose from The Resist range as I recently heard how much Renee from Gothamista loved the cleanser. The toner is RRP AUD$32, and after the discount, it was AUD$22.11.

How I find it

I was expecting a clear, watery toner which is what most toners are like nowadays. But to my surprise, this is more like a watery essence. It has that viscous texture that feels almost like a very lightweight lotion. You put it on a cotton pad and gently wipe across your face after cleansing. The milky toner soothes the skin instantly and I can really call it replenishing!

Most of the time after washing my skin, I try to put toner and essences on my skin asap before I can feel my skin is getting dry it tight. Sometimes, I get distracted with kids and even putting lotion or cream on my body. As soon as I put this toner on my skin, my skin immediately drinks it up and that tightness is soothed immediately.

I know that pretty much all toners would be able to do that because you are putting a humectant on the skin and it will, of course, moisturise your skin. But the effects of this toner lasts. After toner, I would use either a BHA liquid by PC as well, or I go straight into a serum, followed by a moisturiser.

Overall

I have really been enjoying this toner because it is so very soothing on the skin. Currently, we have really cold weather in Auckland and at night my hubby would turn the air conditioning on heater mode so my skin has been drying up. I would wake up in the middle of the night and my skin would feel dry and tight. I have been using oils after my moisturiser at night to try and keep that moisture and hydration from evaporating.

This milky toner is the first step to replenish hydration to my skin, and that instant relief just felt really amazing. It also removes any residue from the skin without drying out the skin or tugging. I can’t wait to try out the cleanser in the same range because I’ve sure that would be great during this cold and dry weather.
