What I got

This is the Banila Co Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm – Purifying (100ml). Banila Co’s Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm is our secret weapon to clean, fresh skin! This silky balm melts away dirt, residue and long-wearing makeup, emulsifying with water into a milk-coloured solution that washes everything down the drain. Sensitive skins, rejoice! The Purifying version is made with gentle, skin-soothing ingredients for an easy clean.

How I find it

Having heard so much good reviews on this cleansing balm, I finally remember to pick one up. They have a number of different formulas and this is a purifying version in a light lavender jar packaging.

It comes with a small clear plastic spatula so I pick up a generous amount of product and warm it up with my dry hands and then massage the product in my dry skin (with makeup on). The balm turns into a silky texture, almost velvety but has a gel-like thickness to it. Usually cleansing balms turns into oil but this doesn’t turn into oil so it hardly runs into your eyes or down your arms.

Massage it all over my face, it works hard to break down all the makeup including waterproof foundations, waterproof mascaras and eyeliners. I use a little bit of water to emulsify and then rinse off.

The balm is really easy to rinse off without needing to use a cloth or rubbing my face fingers. Then I do a double cleanse, my face is clean without feeling dry.

Overall

One of my favourite cleansing balms now because it doesn’t feel oily or too thick on the skin. It cleanses effectively without leaving residue and it’s easy to wash off. I’ve used heaps of other cleansing balms before including Eve Lom, Clinique, Estée Lauder, Dermalogica, Trilogy, etc. This one, along with Clinique and Estée Lauder are quite similar, but of course more affordable.

I do like cleansing oils which is more convenient because they just pump out, but a cleansing balm is surely better for travelling! I do have an Elemis Pro-collagen Cleansing Balm as my next makeup remover so I’ll do a review in that too! Have heard amazing things on that too, so I’m quite excited. But it that didn’t work out. I will definitely get this Banila one again.
