Week 9 – My Reformaskin journey with Caci Clinic

After my first Collagen Induction treatment, I’m due for a facial about 2 weeks later.

Over the last 2 weeks, my skin was acting up. I had at least 5 painful pimples erupted around my chin and jaw area which are the ones that are under the skin. They did surface up the skin into a whitehead pimple relatively fast, but I couldn’t help but touch and pick at it (I know, BAD BAD BAD). However, I think it was partly because of my recent cravings for yoghurt? I have been eating similar food other than the yoghurt for morning tea and a fruit smoothie in the morning. I will try and cut down a bit of diary for a while and see how I do. Otherwise, I haven’t changed up my skincare routine or being under lots of stress…

Anyway, I am applying salicylic acid on the pimples during the day and the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion at night hoping they would go away faster. I am also using my Paula’s Choice 2% BHA lotion day and night now to help it out. I do say that they surface quite quickly which means they are drying out and my body/skin is getting rid of it so I am quite pleased with the results. I just need to stop picking at it.

OK, onto the facial which I have been quite looking forward to because both the microdermabrasion and the collagen induction treatments are both kind of invasive procedures, instead of something you just lie down and relax and drift off to sleep.

7/3/18 – After my 1st Glycolic peel facial with Caci Clinic

Initially, I was told I will be getting a hydrating facial but just before the facial I told the facialist that I have been getting a bit of congestion around my chin area, she suggested we change to an AHA peel instead which will help the congestion.

First of all, she did a double cleanse with a milky cleanser, then followed with a toner. Then she used q-tips to apply the glycolic peel solution all over my face and neck. She warned me that it might be a little tingling, but I felt nothing really, only a cooling sensation when the gel solution was applied. The peel wasn’t left on my skin for any longer than the duration of the application, she removed it with a warm towel. After the peel, she quickly applied a soothing cream mask and removed it with a damp cloth. Follow with a toner and then an eye cream and a moisturiser with SPF.

Honestly, my skin is quite acclimatised with AHA and BHA acids, therefore a Glycolic peel of such weak strength barely did much for my skin and therefore the effect was not that great. My skin felt smooth but similar to what I can achieve at home.

Anyway, my next appointment will be a microdermabrasion and I am looking forward to it because I can feel a bit of congestion around my chin and jaw area. There is also a big pimple on my right cheekbone. ARGH!
