Kiehl’s chemists have been innovating in the hydration category since the 1970’s. This more than 40-year heritage has established their advanced understanding of hydration and its important role in maintaining healthy skin and protecting skin’s barrier. To maximize the hydration benefits of new Ultra Facial Deep Moisture Balm, Kiehl’s chemists combined the efficacy of Edelweiss Flower Extract with the Ultra Facial Collection’s iconic ingredients Antarcticine and Squalane to help store and retain skin’s moisture. The formula provides such rich hydration to dry and very dry skin that in a clinical study conducted in Colorado Springs, Colorado2 it was demonstrated to increase skin hydration by 43.3% after 1 week and 61.1% after 4 weeks.Kiehl%27s Ultra Facial Deep Moisture Balm 2

In addition to Edelweiss Flower Extract, Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Deep Moisture Balm contains a blend of ingredients that bind water, help replenish skin barrier’s lipids and improve skin’s mechanical properties to leave dry and very dry skin looking softer, smoother, hydrated and healthy.

  • Antarcticine: Purified from the microorganism Pseudoalteromonas antarctica, this glycoprotein originates in the very cold soil of Antarctica. Thanks to its physical characteristics, including anti-freezing properties.3 Antarcticine also protects the skin by stimulating the formation of collagen I, IV and elastin.
  • Squalane: A signature Kiehl’s ingredient, Squalane is a lipid derived from olives that is similar in molecular structure to natural skin lipids. Squalane has emollient characteristics due to its chemical structure and physical properties that coat the surface of the skin and help hold on to moisture. Squalane increases skin’s water sealing capacity, which locks in moisture to increase skin’s hydration level.
  • Glycerin: This humectant helps provide lasting hydration and moisture into skin’s superficial layers. Glycerin is known to be transported with water in aquaporin channels to maintain a critical water flow through the skin for water distribution and dryness reduction.

Suggested retail: $54.00. On counters 8 March 2016.
