Epiology Anti-Acne System

Where I got it: I was sent these for consideration. You can find them at selected pharmacies nationwide and online. The face wash retails for $19.99 and the Anti-Acne Cream retails for $25.95.

What I got: This is the Epiology Anti-Acne System Foaming Pre-wash and the Anti-Acne Cream. Quantec is a research focused company that has developed a clinically-proven anti-acne cream whose active, patented ingredient is derived from New Zealand cow’s milk.  The company believes this breakthrough skincare product is a world first and represents an entirely new approach to improving acne and problem skin. Quantec founder and Managing Director, Dr Rod Claycomb, explains, “The bioactive enzymes and proteins found in our Epiology anti-acne cream are essentially the same active enzymes and proteins that all mammals produce to protect themselves from potentially harmful bacteria and other microorganisms. These enzymes and proteins all work together and make up the essential components of the body’s immune defence system. They naturally occur and provide a protective function in saliva and around gums, tears, raw milk and throughout the gut.  This raw ingredient – which we call IDP® – is the key component of our anti-acne cream.”  It has taken the Quantec research and development team seven years to create IDP® and now prove its efficacy for acne.

How I find it:

Anti-Acne Foaming Pre-Wash (110ml): The clear liquid in this bottle pumps out as a white foam ready to be used on clean hands and damp face. The non-irritating, non-drying and moisturising formula cleanses the skin ever so gently. Instructions on the bottle states use 1 pump but I always need 4-5 pumps to get a decent amount so that I can massage something on my face. The consistency of the foam is really watery, the foam is not dense at all and when on contact with my face, it quickly turns into a water consistency.

Anti-Acne Cream: After cleansing I use 2 pumps of this anti-acne cream, dot it onto my face then spread it out with my fingertips. The texture is a very ordinary cream texture and the colour is slightly off white. The cream is not greasy or sticky, feels just right on my combination skin. It does not irritate or dry out my skin and provides good moisture as well so my skin won’t feel dry and tight after 30 minutes.

Overall: Recently my skin has been quite good, just with an odd blemish around the chin area if I do eat a lot of junk food or chocolate. So far, the Epiology Anti-acne system is not breaking me out and works pretty well as a gentle cleanser and a preventative anti-acne cream. The system would be suitable for people who are sensitive to ingredients like Salicylic acid of Benzyl Peroxide normally used in treating acne. This is non-irritation and much gentle. If you are sensitive of the above ingredients, give this system a try!
