Week 21 – My Reformaskin journey with Caci Clinic

So I’m writing this the weekend after I had my first Sonophoresis Infusion treatment because I was so caught up in family events in the weekend I was so occupied and exhausted to write this post. So now, I am here to fill in what happened last week.

My skin was doing OK for the last few weeks despite still recovering from the disaster that is from the Biotin supplements. I swear that I will not be taking Biotin supplements anymore, but I am still taking multi-vitamins that contains Biotin, but only a very small amount to see how I go. So I have a couple of breakouts around my jaw and chin area, but nothing else around the rest of my face. My face feels and looks quite OK.

What is Sonophoresis?? Sonophoresis is a safe, non-invasive treatment, suitable for almost all skin types. It helps to reduce redness, and improve skin tone and texture.

How does it work?? Sonophoresis uses sound waves (ultrasound) to gently infuse the infusion treatment products into your skin (your Caci Beauty Therapist will choose the right infusion treatment for you). Ultrasound and lontophoresis technology introduces topical skincare through into the dermal layer, where our skin structures such as collagen, elastin, capillary network, and the master fibroblast skin cells are found.

Week 21 – Looking forward to my first Sonophoresis Infusion

What happens at the treatment?? First of all, she did a double cleanse on my skin with a milky cleanser and then and exfoliating cleanser. Then she toned my skin with a toner. She then put a little probe under one my my shoulders and started away with applying something on my face and using a pen-shaped wand to work it across my skin. After that, she applied something else with a brush (area by area) and use a small metal paddle to swipe across my skin and let the sound waves do its thing. During the treatment you will hear slight ticking sounds, these are micro-currents working to infuse product, it feels like small vibrations on the skin. There is no pain and no weird sensation, quite relaxing actually. After that, she cleanses off the excess product with some toner and then applies moisturiser with sunscreen on top.

How does it feel?? Skin feels like I’ve just had a facial, no redness at all. My skin looks glowing and refreshed and that’s always how I step out of the clinic, haha! I honestly don’t see a big difference on my skin after the treatment as I think it is not an immediate-result type of treatment. My skincare concern/focus is on acne scarring, breakouts and overall even skintone and I think these concerns are really hard to see immediate results because healing takes time. If you have good skin already and maybe lacking in some brightness or in need of some natural-glow-from-within look, this would fulfill your wishes. I personally would prefer a microdermabrasion.

My next appointment is in 2 weeks time and that would be a microdermabrasion! At the mean time, see you guys on Instagram!
