L’Occitane Cleansing and Softening Shower Oil with Almond Oil

Where I got it: I received this as a gift at my recent baby shower (thank you Vivian!). My friend had really dry skin when she was carrying her first child, even her usual body wash is drying her out so she tried this shower oil and it did wonders. This is available at L’Occitane stores but I haven’t checked how much it retails for.

What I got: This is a 250ml bottle of Cleansing and Softening Shower Oil with Almond Oil from L’Occitane. This shower oil transforms, when in contact with water, into a delicate foam that gently cleanses the body. Enriched with almond oil, it respects the hydrolipidic film and leaves a subtle and mouthwatering scent of fresh almond, for a delightful skin!

imageHow I find it: At first, I thought it was a shower gel with almond oil in the formula. When I poured it onto my palms, it is rather runny, like oil instead of gel. When it gets into contact with water, the oil turns milky and thickens up. That is the special effect of the shower oil, it is kind of like a cleansing oil. The shower oil is really soft and moisturising. It is not drying and feels really nice on the skin. Washing off is easy and doesn’t leave a greasy film on the skin, but it leaves my skin soft and moisturised without that squeaky clean feel which dry skin people are really afraid of.

Overall: This shower oil smells amazing and feels amazing. I love using this in winter and I think I would enjoy it in summer as well. With the bump getting bigger and bigger towards my last few weeks, I think moisturising my body is really important to prevent stretch marks. After using this shower oil, I will use a body butter/lotion. Make sure you use a good amount and don’t use a shower puff because it doesn’t really work with a puff.
