Where I got it
After seeing a number of amazing reviews of this Dior foundation stick, I have decided to try it for myself. However, the shade I wanted was sold out for about 2 months. It was sold out at the Dior beauty boutique, and at any other retailers in New Zealand. So when it was restocked on the Dior.co.nz website, I immediately checked it out.
The stick foundation has gained so much amazing reviews online – IG and YouTube alike. This foundation is NZD$119 in New Zealand, which is not cheap. Luxury makeup prices has increased quite a bit these few years.

What I got
This is the Dior Forever Skin Perfect Foundation Stick in shade 2N. I think this shade is very popular, therefore sold out for a while. This is a light/medium shade with a neutral undertone. If you have warm undertone, go for 2W, otherwise 2CR has a cool-rosy undertone. There is a total of 18 shades available.
Dior has created a multi-use foundation stick with a natural, blurred finish that provides 24h wear and hydration. Its buildable coverage evens out the complexion and erases imperfections to reveal a flawless complexion in a single step.
True skincare in a stick, Dior Forever Skin Perfect lets the skin breathe and provides continuous hydration. Its soft, lightweight texture was developed to melt into the skin, blending seamlessly without any effort for a barely-there feel and 24h of comfort.
Enriched with pigments, it visibly reduces the appearance of pores and conceals imperfections. This foundation stick delivers a perfect “blurring filter” effect with heat- and humidity-resistant wear.
Multi-use, it can be applied as foundation over the entire face, used as a targeted concealer, or kept close at hand for touch-ups on the go.

How I find it
The foundation stick comes in a sleek, deep blue case that is commonly seen in Dior packaging. The pull-off cap has a silver top with a cannage pattern which we see a lot of in Dior products. The CD logo on the side of the stick makes this packaging look simple, yet chic. It is slightly weighted so it feels expensive and not cheap. I like this very much. The side of the foundation stick fits well into my hands with an oval shape so it can fit around the face area quite nice.
A full 180° twist will reveal around 5mm of product. At first application, I wasn’t sure how soft the formula was, so I retracted half-turn and swiped it over my face directly from the tube. The formular is creamy and smooth, but did not break off from the tube. Of course, don’t twist it all the way up!

The formula of this foundation is emollient and creamy but not soft. It glides onto the skin effortlessly, without any tugging. It feels moisturising on the skin, and it’s not dry-looking or thick and cakey. I like to use 3 swipes across my cheeks starting from the centre of my face, then I use one swipe down my nose, 3 short swipes on my chin area, and the 1 swipe on the centre of my forehead, and then two swipes in either side of my forehead.

I like to use my Hourglass Vanish foundation brush to blend it out and it blends out easily and fast. It is super blendable without feeling thick and dry. Starting from the centre of my face, and gently blend outwards. Where I need extra coverage, I could apply directly to that area and blend.
The coverage is medium and the finish is natural. I have combination skin with oily t-zone and slightly dry chin area. I find that I only need to powder my t-zone areas if I want my makeup to last for the entire day. Personally, I prefer some of my natural oils to come through to mix with my foundation to create a natural, slightly dewy finish.
This is not a long-wear foundation so it does wear off and rub off if you rub your nose, wipe your face, etc. If I reapply sunscreen on top using a sunscreen stick, it will move the foundation. But since the foundation is not full coverage, I can blend it out with my fingers or a puff to fix it up.

Overall
I have been using this foundation non-stop! Sometimes I use it as a full-face medium coverage foundation, sometimes I use a light layer to even out my skintone, sometimes I use it as a concealer for that minimal makeup day. The natural finish is beautiful and very versatile for a daily look. You can add a dewy blush and a highlighter to achieve a glowy look, or you can use a matte powder blush to achieve a more natural matte look. It wears beautifully during the day as my natural oil comes through, but I find that it does oxidize a little, but very slightly. I don’t need to powder over this, but if you are in a more humid environment, it is probably best to powder for a longer-lasting makeup look.
I have recently been on holiday to Queenstown where it is very cold and relatively high humidity and I took this foundation stick with me. It is quick and easy, I apply this in the morning and I’m set of the day. I don’t have time to touch-up or re-do my makeup during the day. When I check my makeup after lunchtime, everything still looks great. Nothing has sat into my pores, or build up on fine lines, skin is still comfortable without looking dry and cakey. My blush was still where it was along with all my other makeup. I am very happy with this foundation and I will be continually using this.
