Bvlgari Save The Children Necklace

Where I got it

I have been looking at the Bvlgari b.zero necklace for a while and knowing that I would probably not pay over £2k for a necklace in the near future. When I saw this version of their necklace (similar design as the b.zero) in sterling silver and black ceramic (usually they are white gold, yellow gold, or rose gold), was only a fraction of the price (£520, approx. NZD$950), I thought it was a good option to satisfy my craving. I bought this on Selfridges.com and it is also available at Bvlgari.com at the moment. However, this collection was launched in 2019, so it is not a brand-new collection.  This is available at Bvlgari.com for USD$620 (excluding tax).

This collection consists of a necklace, bracelet, and ring with sterling silver and black ceramic and a different style of pendant necklace with sterling silver, ruby, and onyx, All of them look very similar to Bvlgari’s existing designs so they are really high quality, looks expensive but just with less expensive materials. I think if you love the design of these pieces and you don’t want to pay the high cost of fine jewelry pieces, this collection is quite a good starting point for owning a piece of Bvlgari.

Bvlgari for Save the Children

What I got

This is the Bvlgari for Save the Children necklace. Honouring Bvlgari’s ongoing philanthropic partnership with Save the Children, the necklace in sterling silver and black ceramic is inspired by the B.zero1 jewelry collection and engraved with the charity’s logo. For every piece of Bvlgari’s Save the Children jewelry collection sold, a part of the proceeds will be donated to fund programs that provide support and opportunities to the world’s most vulnerable children and youth. Save the Children black ceramic and sterling silver pendant with sterling silver chain. Length 14.60-17.70 (38-45 cm).

How I find it

The necklace is stunning and it has a very good weight to it. The material of the pendant is black ceramic in the middle and sterling silver on either side of the circle pendant with BVLGARI engraved on it. The cable chain is also sterling silver and has a good thickness to it. Not too chunky, but sturdy enough to handle the pendant. The lobster claw clasp is easy to open and there are 2 hoops where you can adjust the length of the necklace. You can hook the clasp to the hoops, or you can hook it on the chain and the hoops will stop the clasp. The latter method would allow the chain to move around and the clasp could move to the front of the neck (which is another look that I often see people wear this necklace).

Overall

I usually go for gold-toned jewelry because it just looks nice on my yellow undertone skin. However, this silver-toned necklace does look quite nice. It looks a little casual but still looks quite nice and clean. It is 925 sterling silver so I have not had an allergic reaction to it after wearing it for a full day, whereas I’ve had an allergic reaction to silver-plated jewelry before and I generally prefer gold jewelry instead. It is a bit more weighted to what I usually wear so I’m conscious about it when I have it on. It’s not flashy or obnoxious, but if you know it, you know it. The ceramic and sterling silver still makes this necklace look just as expensive as the white gold and ceramic version so I am very happy with my purchase.
