Chanel N°5 L’Eau Fresh Lotion

Where I got it

When I ordered the Rouge Allure L’extrait lipsticks, I also asked my SA if they have any L’huile Camelia cuticle oil, she said they only received a handful of them when they came in and they were sold out in the meantime. So when it was back in stock, she texted me and asked if I still wanted it. I went ahead with the cuticle oil and I also picked up the N°5 L’Eau Fresh Lotion and the N°5 The Shower Gel. This fresh lotion retails for $94 and it is only 100ml. The body lotion size for the standard N°5 is 200ml and it is only $121.

Chanel N°5 L’Eau Fresh Lotion

What I got

The Chanel N°5 L’Eau Fresh Lotion (100ml). A moisturising body lotion with an incredibly fresh and comfortable texture for a non-greasy finish. Extolling simplicity right down to its minimalist packaging. Sleek, white, contemporary and travel-friendly. N°5 L’EAU FRESH LOTION evokes the softest facet of N°5 L’EAU. Top notes of lemon, mandarin, and orange soar skyward with the aldehydes. The flowers come like a second wind, as rose melds with airy jasmine and a new, ultra-modern fraction of ylang-ylang. Behind this floral bouquet, vetiver and cedar impart a novel dynamism, softened by notes of musk.

How I find it

I love the black and white packaging of this bottle. It looks simple and chic. This bottle also has its signature twist and slide top, which is something I don’t really like. When you twist the lid, the top of the lid slides away to reveal the opening where the body lotion can pour out. It leaves the opening a little messy in my opinion, but you don’t need to fumble around for the lid, etc. The bottle is also plastic so it is perfect for traveling.

Chanel N°5 L’Eau Fresh Lotion

In terms of the scent of this body lotion, it is very nice if you like Chanel N°5 and N°5 L’Eau. It has a hydrating, lotion-like texture but the fragrance of this lotion does pack a punch. I would say it is quite intense and long-lasting. If you apply this all over the body, you would smell great for the entire day and it will linger on your clothing for the next day. Now I would probably only use this on my arms and shoulder area to get the benefits of the fragrance, and then use a cheaper body lotion on the rest of my body (i.e legs and torso). That way, the bottle will last me a lot longer.

Overall

When I use this body lotion, I don’t need to use any perfume at all as this is strong enough for my preference and I am quite happy with that. L’Eau has a fresher take on the N°5 so it is easier on the nose and less “old-fashioned”.  I really would’ve loved it if they change the lid mechanism. Overall, this body lotion does what it needs to do – moisturise the body and leave a lasting fragrance.
