Chanel Le Lift Le Lotion

Where I got it

Sometime last year, I tried a sample of this lotion and loved it, so I bought the full size bottle shortly afterwards. This was before the second nationwide lockdown in New Zealand, I decided to pick it up while I was on a shopping trip in downtown Auckland. I like to go into the Chanel beauty boutique for that luxury brand experience. I could always buy this from my local Farmers but the experience is so sub-par. The Chanel beauty boutique in Britomart stocks skincare, makeup, the Boy makeup collection, perfume and sunglasses. They treated me with sparkling water, chocolate, free samples and Chanel shopping bags, etc. Now after the second lockdown, I am mostly working from home and have minimal time to go into town anymore, so I love to order over the phone with Julia, my SA. She is so sweet and I pay for the my order with my credit card.

This is the only skincare item I picked up that day and I paid $133 for it. I later found that this lotion is also available at Smith & Caughey for $127, which I was quite surprised. Anyway, I am super excited nonetheless. However, I did leave this review a little late because I have yet to get around to using this for a decent amount of time to see results.

Chanel Le Lift Lotion

What I got

This is the Chanel Le Lift Le Lotion (150ml). With its exceptional and highly concentrated formula, LE LIFT Lotion does more than deliver smoothing and firming action. It also balances and rehydrates the skin to make it more receptive to the firming and anti-wrinkle properties of LE LIFT skincare. As the essential prelude to the ritual, it carries active ingredients directly to the skin. The benefits have never been so intense.

Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Butylene Glycol, Alcohol, Dipropylene Glycol, Glycerin, Pentylene Glycol, Methyl Gluceth-10, Ipomoea Batatas Root Extract, PPG-6-Decyltetradeceth-30, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Phytosteryl/Octyldodecyl Lauroyl Glutamate, Sodium Citrate, Xanthan Gum, Parfum (Fragrance), Polyquaternium-51, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Alcaligenes Polysaccharides, Sodium Hyaluronate, Phytic Acid, Citric Acid, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Polianthes Tuberosa Polysaccharide, Sphingomonas Ferment Extract, Hydrochloric Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Tocopherol

Chanel Le Lift Lotion

How I find it

After cleansing, I would use this lotion to hydrate my skin. You can use this with cotton pads, but I like to pour it onto my hands and then pat it into my skin because it has a viscous texture and it is not runny. It is not a toner as such, so it is not suppose to further cleanse your skin after cleansing. It is suppose to provide hydration and prepare skin for your serums and moisturiser. This is more of an essence lotion, not really a lotion in terms of Japanese skincare because that would be a runny moisturiser. You can apply multiple layers to build up the hydration and you could skip serums if you are not going to use any actives. This product alone will provide good hydration and a light layer of moisture.

Now I do not have the full size versions of the Le Lift serums and creams, but I do have a lot of samples of these products and I have been using these alongside the lotion and I do see my skin feeling and looking more plump and bright. The lotion has a very light scent which is not floral, but I can smell a light alcohol scent and smells like skincare products.

Overall

Very happy with this product because I love that essence/lotion step in my skincare routine. I almost always use a step like this. Be in a spray toner, or a viscous essence like this one. My favourite way to put this into my routine is after my BHA liquid and before any other serums. My Paula’s Choice BHA liquid is a really water liquid that hardly has any thickness and I like to get that to work on my skin right after cleansing. Then I would use this essence lotion to provide hydration. I would use a hydrating spray after this essence if I wanted to and if my subsequent serum needed extra hydration. I would say this bottle would last me a good 3-4 months on continuous use as I only need a small amount each time. I have the Le Blanc Essence Lotion as well which I will move onto next after this is finished.
