Valentino Garavani V Logo Reversible Leather Belt

Where I got it

I have been eyeing this belt for a long time, ever since Victoria from Inthefrow wore the large version on her YT channel. I love the subtle V logo that is not too obnoxious, definitely something that will be recognised by people who know the brand, but not too in-your-face.

I spotted it in MyTheresa.com and I have shopped my first Valentino rock stud block heels there so I know for sure they are genuine and shipping is safe. It was on sale when I first looked at it, but within 20 minutes my size was all sold out. I had to put it on my wishlist and wait until it becomes available again. In about 2 weeks, my size was available but the sale has finished already. I really wanted it and don’t want to it sell out again, so I grabbed it and the app states that this is the last piece (for that size). It was €269 which is approximately NZD$475, and it was free shipping as well. I ordered it on 21/2 and it arrived approximately 2 weeks later.

What I got

This is the Valentino Garavani V Logo Reversible Leather Belt in light ivory/clay colour. This Italian-crafted leather belt from Valentino Garavani bears the label’s VLOGO monogram, downsized here in gleaming golden metal for a glamorous look. The reversible design is rendered in ivory white and brown for a refined yet versatile finish. 3cm thick and 80cm in length.

How I find it

The material of this belt is calf leather and the buckle is an antique gold colour. It is 3cm thick which is perfect for using this on jeans and around dresses to cinch in waists. They do make 4cm and 2cm which is think is a little too big and too thin for my preference. This light ivory and clay colour suits most of my clothing colour palette so I have just been waiting for this colour. I needed a nice belt to some of my baggy pants and definitely for the time when I needed a statement belt over a dress.

The package came delivered in MyTheresa’s usual yellow box, and inside you have the Valentino Garavani red box and the belt is securely in its dust bag. As usual, My Theresa includes a whole bunch of paper work for returns including paid postage stickers.

The belt itself is beautiful, the leather is smooth and soft and the design is simple and chic. I love this light colour-way because it suits most of my clothes. This is reversible obviously and all you need to do is remove the buckle, flip the belt around and slot the belt through the a lot behind the buckle and push the know through that single hole and you are ready to go!

You can obviously wear this with pants, tuck you shirt in just a little bit, you can wear it over your dress to cinch the waist. Valentino has a larger size which IMO suits better to be used over a coat or tucking your scarf or shawl in type of look. This 3cm version probably wouldn’t look as good as the large one.

Overall

A Gucci belt is also around €230-€300 depending on the thickness, but I really prefer the V logo much more than the GG logo to be honest. I think I’ve seen the Gucci belt everywhere and I’m kind of over it already. This belt in the other hand is so classy and chic, combined with this colour combination, it’s just gorgeous.

I try to refrain from wearing this in dark denim because I’m worried about colour transfer to the belt which is irreversible. I might get a darker belt in the future depending on whether I find myself needing a darker belt often. Valentino does make a black and red reversible belt as well as a brown belt which I’m not too keen on. I know there are a few logo buckle belts out there and I have been looking into Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Loewe and Hermes (can’t get Hermes in NZ, so I might have to search pre-owned). However, I am very satisfied with this one at the moment, I won’t be needing another one right now.
