Natura Bissē Stabilizing Cleansing Mask

Where I got it

If you haven’t heard of Nam Vo, you need to follow her on IG, she is hilarious and her skin literally glows! She is all about being dewy (#dewydumpling) and even though she has plenty of sponsors for her super-expensive skincare products like The Cream by Augustinus Bader; single-extract essence by Amore Pacific; Sulwhasoo’s Concentrated Ginseng Renewal Cream, etc. she also have good recommendations of more down-to-earth products like Peach and Lily, Biossance, Paula’s Choice, etc.

She did this once-in-a-lifetime masterclass with this stupidly amazing goodie bag filled with products. I’m talking about at least 15+ full sized products! Unfortunately I missed out because it was sold out within minutes after it went live.

Nonetheless, I watch her IG stories often and she recommended this product from a brand I never heard of. I did a quick search and I ordered this in Beauty Expert which is the only place I found that ships to NZ (albeit the long shopping wait). It was $49.66, unfortunately this is now out of stock on BeautyExpert.com.

How I find it

This is one of those dual-purpose product that you can use as a cleanser or a mask. Usually a cleanser/mask product, you can feel that gummy cleanser texture and that it wouldn’t dry down, but this product applies effortlessly as a mask – smooth and even. It tends to dry down quite fast even when I’m using a generous amount. I started applying on my cheeks and then my nose and chin, then lastly my forehead. By the time I return to fix up my cheeks, it was already quite grippy and hard to go over the area.

The mask does have a rather nostalgic scent, like something my mum had used. It has that cosmetic-product floral/menthol scent, but it wasn’t intense. The mask dries down within 10 minutes and I didn’t really want to leave it on any longer than that. The mask now feels thin and tight on the skin. I added a little bit of water to my fingertips and gently massaged the mask off my face. It began to soften and turn into a milky cleanser with a little bit of lather. I really liked that and after cleansing, my skin felt incredible – clean and looking smooth.

It did leave my skin feeling a little dry, but that is the expected effect of a clay mask. I need to carry on with my skincare routine immediately otherwise my skin will feel tight.

Overall

I honestly didn’t know what I was expecting of this mask when I bought it. In fact, I ordered it without knowing it was a cleanser/mask product. I also did not know it was a clay-based mask, but now it makes sense that it is a cleansing mask. I haven’t used a clay mask for a while now and I think using a clay mask once in a while for my skin is beneficial, and not too stripping.

I prefer to use this mask possibly once every 2 weeks as a deep cleanse. I exfoliate at least twice a week with a chemical exfoliator so my skin is not usually congested. Doing a cleansing mask just gives me that extra boost.
