Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette

Where I got it

I got this from OnceIt for $69.99, and this retails for $91.00 on Mecca Maxima. I wasn’t actually looking to purchase a palette, nor was I really wanting this particular one. Honestly, it was just a spur of the moment and an impulsive buy (sigh..). Anyway, I ordered this on 11/9/20 and it arrived on 16/9/20 which is actually quite fast for Onceit. Most of the time it takes them around 1-2 weeks for delivery.

How I find it

I am not a big makeup person compared to a lot of these people online that does amazing makeup as a profession or as passion. I am really low-key in my makeup on a daily basis, and even for events. The most glammed up look I go for is probably contouring and liquid eyeliner. I don’t even bother with false lashes because it just irritates the heck out of my eyes and I can’t be bothered checking my makeup all the time. I also prefer a natural look on my skin where it doesn’t look like I’m trying too hard to hide my dark circles, blemishes, pigmentation, etc.

What I’m trying to say is I’m not a professional in makeup, so I won’t be demonstrating multiple different looks with this palette and I would be using my this palette to the point where I am comfortable. Pinky reds are usually not my main colours, I usually go for light brown, gold, bronze, etc. However, this pink red palette is really beautiful and nothing is really bold red or barbie pink.

Overall

I love a good mixture of matte and metallic/shimmer shades that all of Urban Decay palettes do. In my opinion, they do the best combination of colours suitable for my preference. There are a couple of darker shades which I would use if I am going out at night or just want to slightly darken my makeup look.

The formulation is not creamy, but smooth. It’s not powdery as well. I think it applies easily and blends nicely. It deposits a nice amount of product without overdoing it. Even the pale, matte shades applies evenly without looking chalky or not showing up. The shimmer/metallic shades are also very beautiful, I can lay down the colours with a brush without making a mess and still get good intensity.

The pan sizes are really good compared it’s not too big and not too small, but even with the first palette I own from them, I haven’t even hit pan on any of them. I probably need to wear more eyeshadows!
