Zimmermann Fall 2019 Espionage Lace Panel Blouse

After lusting over the brand for over 2 years, I decided its time to splurge and pick up a piece (or 2) that I really like and would actually wear on more than a handful of times a year (I bought a Needle and Thread dress about a year ago that I have yet to wear because it is so formal). I have tried on a Zimmermann playsuit earlier last year when I collaborated with Oh Rent Me and it was oh-so-dreamy.

Delivery and packaging

Zimmermann does have sales on their website and they have outlet stores in Australia as well. I picked up this blouse from their sale section for AUD$300 and it retailed for AUD$550. I ordered it from the Zimmermann website on Tuesday 4/2 and it arrived on Monday 10/2 from Australia. It was packaged in a courier box and inside we have the Zimmermann logo white box with a magnetic closure at the front.

The piece is wrapped in tissue paper and their logo sticker. It also came with an envelope with the commercial invoice and an online returns form. This piece came directly to me from their Melbourne Outlet store and my other piece (I ordered at the same transaction) was delivered in a separate box from their “online store” in Rosebery, NSW. I was not charged any duty at customs because it was <NZD$1,000.

back

The front and the back looks exactly the same, there is an invisible zip at the back that goes about halfway down and it zips smoothly. The blouse itself is quite see-through so that it comes with a little camisole to match. I love the zipper detail at the sleeves even though I cannot find a use for it. I wouldn’t wear this the sleeves unzipped.

The ruffle and lace at the sleeves, at the neck and around the blouse are really pretty and elegant. The relaxed fit is perfect for me because I prefer to wear something more relaxed than something that is figure-hugging or revealing. I can pair this with a pair of dark-coloured skinny jeans and tuck it in, or I can wear this with some straight leg dress pants to look more polished. Since this piece is a single colour, you can wear something with a bit of print or patterns on the bottom so that it’s not too busy all through the outfit.

cami

This maroon colour blouse gives full-on autumn vibes. I can see myself wearing this in winter as well, maybe with a long-sleeve layer instead of the cami. The silk textured strips all through the blouse makes this piece look really interesting when you move. I have another Zimmermann blouse with a floral print, but the design is basically the same. However, it gives a totally different style/vibe to it. This is size 2 which is large or size 12 for NZ sizing. I could actually get away with size 1 which would be medium/size 10 because it is a relaxed fit and this is my first time purchasing from Zimmermann, I am not sure of the fit of their blouses.

Pairing

I love pairing this with jeans and tucking it in al or just a little. High-waisted jeans looks the best, tight-fitting or loose fitting works just as good, but it also looks great over tailored shorts for a more casual vibe. The blouse wears comfortably without feeling any scratches from tags and zips, the colour is very good for autumn/winter season so it’s great for the season we have now in NZ (June/July). Hopefully we will see pictures of this too a lot more on my IG.
