Milani Everyday Eyes Eyeshadow Collection

Where I got it

I ordered a couple of products from Farmers.co.nz a couple of weeks ago from the Beauty Week sale and they had 20% off Milano products online and in stores. I picked this up at $18.39 after discount, otherwise, they are $22.99 full price.

What I got

How I find it

This neutral palette is perfect for me. I love the brown and golden shades as well as the two lighter highlight colours. I can create a daytime look with the first 3 shades, then a more glammed up look by adding the darker browns and using the shimmery white on the top right-hand corner to the inner corner of the eyes.

The shimmery shades are well pigmented but not powdery and they go onto the eyes easily without fallout. The matte shade, the taupe, in particular, is really soft, but you do need to pack that on to build up the colour, it’s not a creamy butter pigmented shade, but I actually do like it that way. It means you can build it to the deepness you want without going overboard. It is a great transition shade I think or a blending shade as it is subtle, but you can still see it.

The dark brown liner shade is quite nice for a softer liner look. I use a small angle brush with a rather stiff tip to carefully line just above my upper lash line so that it gives the illusion of bigger eyes without using liquid or pencil eyeliner which can be very obvious.

For this look, I used the taupe shade as a base shade, then the gold shade over my lids just under the crease. I then finished the look off with the first light shade in the inner v corner of my eyes and the liner shade just at the outer corner of my eyes. I don’t line my lower lash line.

Overall

This one is a thumbs up for me, it has all the shades I need to go travelling if I’m not planning to wear much colour. I can create daytime looks that are natural-looking, the eyeshadow formula is low-maintenance, you can use your fingers or brushes to apply. You just can do no wrong with these fail-safe shades. A small compact palette saves space, but no mirror might be a problem to some, but at the same time the clear lid lets you see exactly what shades are in this palette. I honestly can’t decide on which I would prefer, I guess I could go without a mirror because I always bring a small mirror with me anyway?

Milani does have other shades in this palette range, but the ones available at Farmers are: Must Have Neutrals, Basic Matte and Must Have Metallics. All of these are really beautiful palettes. Do you have a favourite Milani product you would recommend?
