Benefit Gold Rush and Galifornia Blush

Where I got it

I was recommended by a friend of mine to pick up Gold Rush and Dandelion, but I wasn’t able to find Dandelion, only Dandelion Twinkle. These cute little Benefit products are available from most Life Pharmacies and also at Benefit counters for $29. Some are only $24.

How I find it

So both of these blushes looks beautiful in the pan and they both have a gold overspray on it which can be misleading. If you are in store, see if the tester has been used enough so that you get into the actual shade under the overspray to see the real colour. Otherwise the overspray would need at least a couple of uses to fully disappear.Having said that, the overspray just looks pretty, it doesn’t really add a lot of shimmer to the skin anyway. These blushes have a really nice smell, like a sweet floral smell and I absolutely love it! They come with a small little brush and a plastic separator to hold the brush within the compact. I don’t use the brush at all, not even for travel.

The small pan does mean that your brushes might have a bit of a hard time going in and swirling around. For blushes, it is still ok, but for the hoola bronzer, you definitely can’t dip your big bronzer brush in.

Anyway, let’s talk about the shades. Gold Rush is a very skin-like nude pink with a slight sheen finish, looks super natural on the skin but I would say this is more suitable for fair to light medium skin tones as the shade is quite light.

Galifiornia is a cute pastel pinky-coral shade with a matte finish. These blushes are not highly pigmented so they are so easy to apply and wear without risk of overdoing it. This would show up on all skin tones and would give that cute and innocent look.

Overall

First of all, I am loving these mini sized boxes, they are so cute and space-saving! I hardly finish any full-sized blush or highlighter, so this size is perfect for trying things out. Even if I were to buy a backup or a repurchase once this is finish, I would buy a mini again.

Both shades are beautiful but I do find myself gravitate towards Gold Rush as it is so effortless and subtle for everyday. When I’m going out or the weekend, I would use Galifornia. You can also use these on the eyes too and they look really pretty!
