3 makeup looks with Althea makeup

Summery makeup look with Althea makeup

Althea has finally launched a new line of makeup products and I am happy to be a part of their Althea Angels ambassador team! I am so grateful for all the products they sent over and I have created 3 looks with these products. The first part of this post is the review of each product, then followed by the 3 looks I have created.

Flawless Creamy Concealer

Comes in 4 shades which is not a wide range of shades and is a little disappointing for some. Althea is not a big brand yet, therefore having 20-30 concealer shade is pretty impossible for them to produce. Anyway, the concealer comes in a slim tube with a doe-foot applicator. The formula is creamy and easy to blend. The coverage is very good and I would use this under foundation so that you could tune the shade a little and the undertone a little.

Personally, I have oily skin so I need to bake or powder over the concealer to stop it from creasing and fading. The shade I would use is honey for my undereye area, and ginger for brightening and for cut-crease.

Watercolor Cream Tint

This is a very pigmented lipgloss, almost like a lip cream that leaves a powerful stain pretty much instantly. You can wear this on its own with an even layer for intense pigment, or you can blot afterwards to create a more stained look that is smudge-proof and transfer-proof.

If you do decide to use it as a lipgloss/lip cream, it doesn’t really set. Meaning that it will smudge and transfer. It would feel slightly tacky, but in a creamy way, not a sticky, stringy way. It currently has 4 shades: Peach Cream, Marron Cream, Plum Cream and Strawberry Cream. The shades are on the deeper red spectrum.

The photo above is the cream tints just swatched. The photo below is the cream tints being totally wiped off. I tried to wash it off with an oil cleanser, but it would not budge. Therefore I highly recommend that you be really careful about where you apply this as you are pretty much unable to get it off easily without leaving a stain (for a good few hours).

Spotlight Eye Glitter

This is a liquid glitter eyeliner in 2 shades – Gold light and Pink light. It comes in a clear plastic tube with a thin paintbrush tip. The thin brush tip is not the easiest to use when applying this glitter eyeliner precisely. From the Althea website, you can use this as an eyeshadow as well because it does dry down quick without feeling sticky.

Pink Light has a pinky base colour with gold and silver glitter. Gold Light is actually a white base colour with gold and silver glitter.

Sunrise and Moonrise Eyeshadow Palette

This 8-colour eyeshadow palette comes with a generously sized mirror and the eyeshadow pans are of decent size. There is 1 matte shade (2nd shade on the top row), 5 satin shades and 2 metallic shimmery shades. We have some pinky shades mixed with a nice shimmery champagne gold, and a purple and blue duo-chrome shade.

Shade 1 is a pale bone shade in a satin formula, shade 2 is a matte nude shade perfect for a base colour, shade 3 is shimmery rose gold that is great for the centre of the eyes, shade 4 is another shimmery shade – a bronze-y gold that is also good for the centre of the eyes.

On the bottom row, shade 5 is a neutral brown with a satin finish, shade 6 is a beautiful deeper pinky red that is great for all over eye colour, shade 7 is a lighter pink shade with a satin finish, shade 8 is an almost duo-chrome shade with a plum-purple base colour with specks of blue micro-glitter (this shade looks pretty amazing on the eyes).

Makeup looks

Look 1: I used a pore-filling primer to prime the centre of my face (nose, forehead, cheeks and chin), then I used my favourite sheer coverage serum foundation to even out my skin tone. For concealer, I used the Althea Flawless Creamy Concealer in Honey in my dark circles. I bake my under eye area with Althea’s Petal Velvet Powder in Lavender. Moving on to my eyes, I used shade 2 from the BCLxAlthea Sunrise & Moonrise Palette all over my lids, then shade 6 to my crease, and shade 4 to the centre of my lids to create more dimension. I finish my eyes by curling my lashes, apply liquid eyeliner, and my favourite mascara combo. I love doing my brows with a brow powder because it looks so natural. Then I finished my look with a satin finish brozner and highlighter and Althea’s Watercolour Cream Tint in Marron Cream.

Look 2: For this look, I also used the a pore-filling primer, a lightweight, sheer coverage foundation, Althea Creamy Concealer and Velvet powder like I did with Look 1. I also changed up my bronzer to more subtle and matte brozner. I also used a blush with a satin finish for this look. For the eyes, I used a shade 1 all over my eye lids which is a satin finish shade, shade 3 to the crease and that’s it. I then used a black liquid eyeliner followed with a line of the Spotlight Glitter Liner just above the black liner. I used my holy grail mascara for my lashes too which gives me this fanned out look. I used Strawberry Cream cream tint to complete the look.

Look 3: I tried out a new foundation and bronzer (Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet in shade 50 Beige and Soleil Tan De Chanel). Then I used the same concealer shade I did for Look 1 & 2, and I baked with the Petal Velvet Powder. For the face, I used my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked for my blush and highlighter and all over face brightening powder. Once my face is completed, I do my brows (trusty Benefit), then I move onto my eyes. Shade 2 as a base colour and then shade 8 to the crease area. I used shade Ginger of the concealer to do a cut crease (you will need to wait for a little for it to set). I have hooded eyes and not a lot of crease space, so I only do a small cut-crease. Once the concealer has set, I used shade 4 on top of the cut crease and in the inner corners. Finish off with eyeliner, mascara and Plum Cream cream tint.

Hope you like the looks I have created. I will post more makeup looks on my Instagram so please follow me there (@kittiemui).
