L’Oréal Bonjour Nudista Awakening Skin Tint

Where I got it: I made a visit to a recent favourite place of mine, the Chemist Warehouse to see if there’s anything new or on sale. I usually look around the La Roche Posay and Avene area first and see if my favourite products are on sale or if anything I wanted to try are on special. I then went to the other side of the shop and the L’Oreal counter to check out some makeup. I saw their new range which includes this skin tint, bronzer, blush, highlighter palette and liquid highlighter. I got this for $20.99 from $24.99. Usually L’Oreal foundations are up at the $35+ end of the price range, so this one is actually quite affordable, but this is more of a sheer coverage “tint” for the skin more than a foundation.

What I got: This is the L’Oréal Bonjour Nudista Awakening Skin Tint in Medium. From the loreal-paris.co.uk website: The light, breathable formula evens out your complexion and gives natural-looking coverage, letting the real you shine through. Now you can get a fresh flow that leaves skin looking refreshed and lit-from-within. Bonjour Nudista Skin Tint has a skin-loving formula that hydrates for up to 24 hours and protects skin from poluution. Enriched with natural ingredients  including apricot, coconut and shea. Say hello to a base that’s so natural, so luminous they’ll think you woke up like this! Available in Light, Medium/light, Medium and Dark (at Chemist Warehouse).

How I find it: I use this primer as I would a BB cream because it is pretty much a BB cream. It has skincare ingredients and sheer to medium coverage. It does not have SPF though so I would apply sunscreen before using this.

The first time I used this I applied a primer beforehand and the skin tint did not sit very well on top. It got pretty yuck to the point I have to remove it and used something else (I was in a hurry to go out and did not have time to muck around).

The next day I tried it again with a more hydrating moisturiser as a base and with no primer. I apply and blend this area by area and made sure I don’t use too much. I would rather apply another layer than have too much that I need to buff out.

Second time works a charm but I do see that the product gets to enlarged pores and the sides of my nose. It provides a nice sheer coverage to even out the skin tone. It has a satin finish, almost dewy. You can set it with a translucent powder or a powder foundation to add extra coverage.

Overall: Not the best BB cream I’ve even used so I’m not very impressed. I like the sheer coverage and the finish but it doesn’t sit on my skin very nice. It gets into my pores and dry areas. I tried a hydrating primer and that seems to work better, but it still doesn’t look skin-like. I guess that was what I was expecting. I will still use this and possibly see how I can get this to work better.
