Essence Glow to Go Illuminating Setting Spray

Where I got it: I was browsing around Farmers the other day and I saw the new Essence stand which I have never seen before. I have seen many good reviews from US-based Youtubers and I was quite excited. I think Farmers is the only place where you can buy Essence products in New Zealand. Their products are really affordable and the packaging is really cute. This setting spray is $7.45 and most of their other products are quite affordable as well.

What I got: This is a 50ml bottle of the Essence Glow to Go Illuminating Setting Spray. The spray sets the make-up in place and instantly creates a radiant look with its light-reflecting pigments. the soft-focus effect evens out small skin irregularities to ensure a flawless look. each push of the nozzle intensifies the effect so it’s easy to achieve the desired level of glow. also ideal as a boost of freshness on the go.

How I find it: This is my first illuminating setting spray and I was looking forward to trying it. It is a small bottle but I like it that way because I can have a chance at finishing this before it expires! As this is a setting spray, I use this at the very end of the makeup application. You have to shake the bottle really well to mix up the products inside which I assume is liquid and duo chrome pigment. But as you see below, the spray nozzle is pretty bad, but for the price, I would probably not expect anything great. I would have to gently pat that into my skin so that I don’t have these pink-shimmery spots all over my face. The illuminating properties of this spray are quite nice though.

Overall: Besides the spray nozzle being quite crappy, I quite like the idea of this illuminating spray. Keeping in mind this is my first ever illuminating or glowing setting spray I don’t know what to expect. I don’t find my makeup lasting any longer than not applied at all so I would say I will apply another layer of setting spray over this one just to extend the longevity of my makeup. Overall, I won’t say that this product is bad, but I would probably try something else in the future to compare. I may try to decant this into another spray bottle to see if it sprays better so I don’t have to pat it into my skin.
