Paula’s Choice Skin Balancing Pore-reducing Toner

Where I got it: I always order my Paula’s Choice products from their Australia website. This is the first time I’m trying their toner, I have been using their BHA liquid for years. This toner is AUD$29.00.

What I got: This is a 180ml bottle of the Paula’s Choice Skin Balancing Pore-reducing TonerA daily facial toner that balances oily skin, minimises enlarged pores and provides light hydration.

  • Refreshes and nourishes skin
  • Lightweight fluid formula
  • Use twice daily after cleansing skin

How I find it: I don’t religiously use a toner because I use an AHA tonic (The Ordinary) at night and about 2 serums on top then follow with a moisturiser. I often get a little lazy to use a toner. However, Wayne Goss recently talked about his love for this toner, I thought I might give it a try too. To be used with a cotton pad after cleansing, simply wipe the face with the solution and then you can follow with your usual serums and moisturisers. This toner has a watery consistency and does not have any fragrance whatsoever. It doesn’t sting or contain any alcohol. It has Niacinamide, chamomile extract, and sodium hyaluronate which are all good ingredients for the skin to hydrate, reduce pore size and soothe the skin.

Overall: Love the lightweight watery formula that does not weigh the skin down and it layers well under serums and moisturisers. I don’t experience any irritation at all and it works great when I combine it with the BHA liquid afterwards. I love how it contains no alcohol yet still be able to effectively remove all remaining traces of makeup and dirt of my face. I would love to see the long-term pore-refining effects fo this toner, otherwise, I might try their redness solution toner next (but that is only 118ml and costs the same).
