Where I got it: If you watch any makeup tutorials or makeup reviews on YouTube, you would have heard about Jouer Cosmetics and their liquid lipsticks. They are famous for their super lightweight texture, comfortable wear and longevity. I ordered this from Beautylish on 20/3 for USD$18 and it arrived on 30/3.
What I got: This is the Jouer Long-wear Lip Creme Liquid Lipstick in Cayenne. This is from their limited anniversary edition. Well-known for its weightless feel and impressively long-lasting coverage, this game-changing liquid lipstick dries down to a soft-touch finish and stays smudge-proof all day. Choose from stunning shades ranging from barely-there mattes to bold, head-turning metallics. Enriched with vitamin E, the non-dying formula wraps lips in a veil of velvety, lightweight colour. No drying, flaking, or tightness.
How I find it: This is a limited edition shade (part of the anniversary collection), therefore you might not be able to get this anymore. However, Cayenne is a warm cranberry shade with a metallic finish. Before you apply, make sure your lips are clean and free from and oils or lip balms to ensure long wear-time. You can prep your lips with a lip balm before hand (leave it on for a few minutes, but wipe off when you apply this lip creme). I find that I use one dip for the upper lip and another dip for the lower lip. The applicator applies the formula very smoothly without streaks or being crumbly. The formula is lightweight but moisturising. It dries down in a few minutes and did not leave my lips feeling sticky or gritty. The metallic finish with a darker shade base does not wash me out.
Overall: First of all, I love this shade. It is a very wearble metallic shade for my skintone. It gives a bit of colour to my face without being too bold or too shiny/shimmery. Once the shade is set, it is completely transfer-proof. I tested it out by kissing the back of my hand after about 10 minutes of application. There was absolutely no transfer at all! However, if you do eat something oily or gets in touch with oil, it will come off, so you do need to reapply. In terms of reapplication, I did not come across any issues at all, it just glides on. The packaging is simple and chic, and the clear acrylic tube means you can see clearly which shade you are using. However, the cube-like cap can make it a little hard to hold steadily, even though the edges does make it easy to grip when opening.
Overall, I love this liquid lipstick from Jouer, I will definitely get more shades and share the good news to my sisters and friends!
