Estée Lauder Clear Difference Advanced Blemish Serum and Targeted Blemish Treatment

Where I got it: I saw the new Clear Difference range on Estée Lauder’s Facebook page and on their Instagram page about 2 weeks ago – I was really intrigued because I do suffer from blemishes even in my early 30s (I just turned 30 in June. Yikes!). The Clear Difference serum and target blemish treatment are out at all Estée Lauder counters nationwide as of 1st June 2014. The Complexion Perfecting BB Crème SPF 35 will be available from September 2014. I was sent these products for consideration.

Estée Lauder Clear Difference Advanced Blemish Serum and Targeted Blemish Treatment

What I got: Estée Lauder’s NEW Clear Difference is a highly-effective, fast-acting system comprised of NEW Clear Difference Advanced Blemish Serum and NEW Clear Difference Targeted Blemish Treatment that targets, treats and dramatically reduces blemishes, effectively yet gently. Taking control of skin, these high-performance, anti-blemish innovations also help prevent new blemishes from forming. In addition, Estée Lauder introduces NEW Clear Difference Complexion Perfecting BB Crème SPF 35 to help protect skin and disguise imperfections. The Clear Difference range is powerful, yet gentle enough for everyday use. The skin-friendly, oil-free formulas are non-drying, non- irritating, calming and oil-controlling and work together to help skin regain and maintain its true clarity, smoothness and luminosity.

Triple Action Clarity Technology. This comprehensive, exclusive technology including a special blend of Salicylic Acid, Glucosamine and Laminaria Saccharina, works in three ways:

  • Stops the Breakout Cycle – With the power of Salicylic Acid, the system targets, treats and reduces blemishes. Skin is purified to keep pores clear and free of debris while blemishes are minimized. With continued use, this system helps to prevent the severity and frequency of future breakouts.
  • Refines and Calms Skin – A high concentration of Glucosamine, a natural and proven sugar-derived skin refiner, normalizes skin’s natural cellular turnover, whisking away dead and dulling skin cells. This helps prevent pores from becoming congested with debris that can lead to breakouts. A potent, soothing blend of Algae Extract, Sucrose and Caffeine helps to reduce redness and minimize discomfort associated with blemishes. Skin immediately feels calm and hydrated, revealing a smoother, clearer texture.
  • Controls Excess Oil & Reduces Look of Pores – A natural marine extract called Laminaria Saccharina, controls excess oil while visibly reducing the look

How I find it:

NEW Clear Difference Advanced Blemish Serum RRP $110 (30mls) and RRP $155 (50mls): This multi-action, serum includes NEW Triple Action Clarity Technology to target the source of breakouts, treating and helping to minimize the severity and frequency of breakouts. Gently, this anti-blemish, skin-refinishing formula efficiently discourages blemishes and excess shine while also helping to reduce the look of pores. Hydrating skin with each application, this non-drying, non-irritating, oil-controlling serum is gentle enough for daily use and reveals an ideal smooth texture. Since I am a regular user of Estée Lauder’s serum (Advanced Night Repair Serum, CPR+ and recently emptied Idealist serum) I was wondering how I can incorporate this in my regime. The lady at the counter recommended that I use the serum before any moisturiser during the day and use my ANR or CPR+ during the night as I don’t want to be piling on products if I have blemished skin. So this serum is rather fluid, it’s viscosity is similar to the Idealist but not as thick and silicon-textured as the CPR+. The serum is white in color without any shimmer particles or silicone texture to it. It feels light on the skin and it is quickly absorbed. I followed it up with my usual moisturiser with SPF during the day.  Skin is left with a fresh, natural finish.

Clear Difference Advanced Blemish Serum

NEW Clear Difference Targeted Blemish Treatment RRP$66: For on-the-spot action, this blemish treatment is formulated with the highest concentration of Triple Action Clarity Technology. This fast-acting treatment fights existing blemishes, penetrating fast to rapidly reduce the size of blemishes while minimizing redness and irritation. Applied at the first sign of a flare up, this targeted treatment will discourage blemishes from getting bigger so skin looks smooth, comfortable and in the clear. Absorbing quickly, the lightweight formula is invisible under makeup. Additionally, the roller ball applicator is portable and is designed to allow for easy application. This little bottle design is really special, it has a long thin cap on the top to cover the metal roller ball on the top, a clear case design with a silver tube filled with the blemish treatment gel inside. When you use it, you push the bottom of the tube up just by one pump, the product will be pushed up under the roller ball and squeezed up on the sides. Then you can apply directly to the blemish. The down side of this design is that you can’t really control how much product to dispense as each push is kind of measured. So if you just have one small blemish, it may be a little waste of product each time you use it. Secondly it may be a little unhygienic to apply directly from the roller ball so I like to use my fingers to apply it or a cotton bud. Nonetheless, the product does work! It goes onto the blemish nicely and dries down relatively quickly. It doesn’t roll when you apply moisturiser or create funny patches when you apply foundation or concealor over the top. I had 3 blemishes lately and they cleared up so fast when I use this in combination with the serum!

Clear Difference Targeted Blemish Treatment

Overall: The texture of the serum is lovely and it doesn’t leave my skin sticky or greasy. I was also expecting the target treatment to be quite drying and contains a lot of alcohol, but it didn’t. In fact, it was quite soothing to use and didn’t interfere with the serum or moisturiser as well. The combination of the target treatment and the serum works wonders! I was having a few small blemishes around my chin area 2 weeks ago, I used the targeted treatment directly on the spots then apply the serum to the blemish and around the area day and night. My blemishes cleared up after about 5 days of use without making my skin peel or over-dry my skin at all. I think it is due to my pregnancy hormones, I am not getting as much blemishes as I used to have so I am saving these 2 products for after giving birth (just in case my skin goes back to it’s bad blemish-prone state. Fingers-crossed it won’t). Love both of these products, but the target treatment is quite pricey.
