L’Occitane Almond Supple Skin Oil

Where I got it

If you have been reading my blog and following me on IG, you may know that I love L’Occitane’s body products – summer limited edition shower gels, shea butter hand creams and most of all, anything from the Almond range. I have pretty much everything from that range and I have at least 2 shower oil refill as backups in my drawers. The Almond Supple Skin Oil has been out of stock nearly every time I visit the store and was in the market to buy a body oil. So when I saw it on the shelves along with the large tube of their Intensive Hand Balm, I grabbed them both and went straight to the counter to pay.

This body oil was $84 for 100ml which is more expensive than their Almond Milk Concentrate (body cream) from the same collection. The Milk Concentrate is $78 for 200ml, but you can get refill pouches for a lower price. Hopefully, refill pouches will be avaliable for the Supple Skin Oil in the future!

L’Occitane Almond Supple Skin Oil

What I got

This is the L’Occitane Almond Supple Skin Oil (150ml). Formulated with more than 50% almond oil, the light, fine Almond Supple Skin Oil effectively helps skin feel firmer and smoother. Skin feels nourished and more supple thanks to the ideal combination of almond oil and camelina oil, rich in omegas 3 and 6. This balance provides suppleness and comfort to the skin. A silicium derivative leaves skin looking firmer and tighter. Applied with a spray, this oil melts into the skin, enveloping it with a subtle and mouth-watering scent of fresh almonds while leaving a delicious satiny-smooth finish. After one month of use, skin feels more comfortable, supple, and firmer. The almond nut, which grows protected in a beautifully soft and green velvet shell, is renowned for its ability to soften and smooth the skin. L’OCCITANE is committed to purchasing almonds from producers in the South of France so that the almond tree, which had long been forgotten in the region, once again becomes a familiar element in the Provençal landscape.

L’Occitane Almond Supple Skin Oil

How I find it

I used this body oil immediately on the night that I got it. After a shower, I pat dry my skin and went on to use about 3 spritz of this oil for each of my legs. I would not recommend spraying this directly to the skin as this is an oil-spray and it will get messy. The spray mechanism was unexpectedly hard to press and it gets even harder when your hand is slightly greasy from the body oil. I would love to have this in a pump bottle so that it is easier to dispense.

Putting that aside, the body oil is oh-so-beautiful. It is really runny and it glides on the skin smoothly and the scent is just so intoxicating! I noticed that as I wear it on my body, it fades to a lighter, fresher scent. Slightly different to the scent given off from the Milk Concentrate which is more milky and creamy if you know what I mean. My skin feels really smooth and soft, but not sticky or greasy. I absolutely love it! I use it in the morning or at night, it doesn’t matter. The scent lingers on for a while but it does fade and rub off on clothes.

Overall

I am writing this now that I have already finished the entire bottle and I am really impressed and would repurchase when the next sale comes. However, I would be excited it they come in refill packs which L’Occitane has been doing for a lot of their products lately. I really enjoy body oils and I love love love the Almond scent from L’Occitane! Between this and the Milk Concentrate, I think I prefer this one because it does get absorbed relatively quickly. The Milk Concentrate was said to provide some firming benefits for the skin, but I have not really seen any particular results. If you have dry skin, you might want to apply the Milk Concentrate first, and then put a light layer of Supple Skin Oil over it.  If you have normal skin, you should be ok with just either one, it is pretty much a personal preference if you prefer a cream or an oil.
