The Boxwalla Beauty Box – Limited Edition – Fifty Seven Kinds of Love

Where I got it

After an amazing February box that I nearly missed out on (Nini Organics box review linked here), I made sure I check out all the IG posts by Boxwalla to see what products will be launching. This one here is a limited edition box with one full-sized and one sample-sized product by Fifty7Kind. I have been stalking this brand on IG for a few months now, and it is a small-batch artisan brand, based in Australia. Gabrielle, the founder and formulate for the brand is an absolutely lovely person. They have an exclusive 2 products in her shop at the moment and everything is small-batch made and a single infusion step can take up to 2 months!

This one-time box was USD$49.95, shipping was a flat rate of $18.95. So the total was USD$68.90. At the current exchange rate, it came down to NZD$117.43. The initial tease for this box was on Boxwalla’s IG post and the pre-order literally sold out in a few hours. I was able to snatch up a box when Boxwalla put out a few very limited supply of extra boxes ( I had to wake up at 3 am, but it was worth it). I ordered this on 23/2 and it arrived on 3/4. They usually start shipping around 10th of March for the March/April box.

What I got

This limited edition box contains 2 products from Fifty7Kind, including a full-sized Nadi (30g) and a sample sized Tanu (5ml). This box has a value of USD$181. Fifty7Kind is a very exclusive artisan brand where Gabrielle believes quality over quantity because one small batch of her product takes months to create and the formulation behind each product has gone through many trials. She put so much time and love into her ingredients, her infusions there is just no words to describe what she does. I followed her IG way before I knew it will be in Boxwalla because I honestly respect her work and her as a person. Did I mention she has amazing skin as well?? Anyway, the information below are all available on her website and there are more on there as well, so please check it out.

How I find it

Gabrielle says on her website that there are many ways you can use NADI. For example as an overnight mask, as an eye treatment, a makeup base, or combine your own micro-emulsion. You can find all of this information on her website so I won’t overcrowd my post.

Honestly, I did not immediately try both products straight away because I was trying to save it for a rainy day or when my skin really needed it. Currently my skin is quite comfortable and in stable conditions. I am not having any active breakouts, no irritations, dryness, no excess oiliness, etc. However, I have recently done a microneedling session and I thought I would use these wonderful products the day after help my skin recover from the trauma and calm any irritations.

I have uploaded the routine as an IGTV on my instagram (@kittiemui), so please check it out if you want to. I used an eye makeup remover to remove my waterproof mascara and any eye makeup. Then I used cleansing oil to remove face makeup and sunscreen. Then I used a gentle cream cleanser as my second cleanse. After that, I used a radiance boosting facial mist all over the face before applying a hydrating mask. After removing the mask, I applied about 4 drops of TANU all over my face. TANU is a oil-based serum with a deep brownish green hue. It had a runny consistency and melted onto my skin beautifully. I took some time to inhale the botanical scent and press the serum into my skin.

Texture of TANU

After TANU, I used a spatula to scoop out a pea-size amount of NADI. Currently, Auckland is around 15°c to 20°c, so it wasn’t too warm and the balm was solid in the jar. It is not a waxy balm as it contains no wax in the formula. The balm felt like a cleansing balm and melts into my hands as I rub them together. The colour of the balm was similar to TANU but the scent is quite different. I also press and smooth the balm into my skin. A little goes a long way and I was able to bring all of that down to my neck and chest and any remaining on my hands.

Texture of NADI

My skin felt plump and supple, looking glowing and dewy. I understand that is probably not everyone’s favourite finish on the skin, but believe me it does sink in. If you have combination/oily skin, use less. If you have dry skin, you can use more. This jar will last me for a long time.

Overall

I am so pleased that I bought this box and I do not regret one bit. I absolutely love both of the products in this box. TANU is such an amazing deep-coloured serum that my skin feels really comfortable in. My skin feels really hydrated and soothed. The aroma of this serum calms and grounds me, making me slow down and enjoy the moment. NADI is also very enjoyable to use, I love it’s amazing texture that transforms depending on the temperature around it. Currently it is a thicker balm, but it melts to my warmth so effortlessly and releases this beautiful scent. My skin slowly drinks it up and my skin looks really healthy and plump.

I know that Gabrielle is working on other formulations for her brand and I am really eager to see her new creations. I have seen sneak peeks of a cleansing balm, a powdered mask and a brightening jelly. I really look forward to her creations. Have you tried anything from Fifty7Kind or ordered a box from Boxwalla?
