Deviant Skincare Enzymatic Cleansing Oil

Where I got it

I have been dipping my toes in Clean Beauty brands or Green Beauty brands lately. Even though I still don’t really understand it, I would like to play a part in bettering our enviroment and leave less of a footprint to the world. I know that I am not doing everything I can to help, but I think it is a step forward for me.

When I first come across this brand, possibly from other skincare lovers on IG, I wasn’t overly interested, but I started seeeing rave reviews of this brand – most of the cleansing balm and cleansing oil. I looked into the brand and got to know more about it. They currently have 4 products in their range – cleansing balm, cleansing oil, resurfacing liquid and a facial oil. I decided to purchase the cleansing oil and it was AUD$56.32. There was a 20% off with the code “CAROLINE20” as their Gentle Resurfacing Liquid was featured in the Caroline Hirons Skin Kit. I would’ve gotten their Resurfacing Liquid but they were all sold out. I ordered this on 4/11, and it arrived on 14/12.

How I find it

After finishing my existing cleansing gel-oil I decided to crack this one open. I only ever have one cleansing oil product open before I try any new ones. This product comes in a solid glass bottle so it is quite light-proof and it comes in a pump for ease. I use about 10 pumps for the entire face and neck because each pump is not a lot.

I was honestly expecting a darker shade of yellow like rosehip oil, but it was near clear. It has a faint scent of rosehip which I really enjoy. It’s not a super slippery or fluid oil, so even though it glides on, it wouldn’t really migrate into my eyes. After a bit of massage, I add a bit of water to emulsify and then rinse off. Then I follow with a second cleanse.

Overall

Personally, I couldn’t really tell whether the enzymatic exfoliants are working on my skin or not, but it sure does cleanse my skin properly without tugging my skin or leaving any residue. Deviant makes a cleaning concentrate which I am super interested as well. It is more of a cleansing balm that has this amazing deep green colour. It looks amazing.

The solid glass bottle doesn’t really allow for you to check how much product is left, so you need to gauge by its weight and simply shaking it a little. It is also quite a heavy glass bottle so you have to be careful not to drop it. Overall, I really enjoy this cleansing oil, from its texture to the scent and it’s efficacy. Very high quality product. I’ve been using this everyday and I’ve done a demonstration in my recent IGTV. Come follow me @kittiemui!
