Briogeo Detox + Restore set

Where I got it

I have been wanting to try something from Briogeo for a while now and I just keep putting it off. Until the last Mecca Beauty Loop box for the end of the year 2020. I ordered this on Meccabeauty.co.nz and redeemed the free little gift (it was a cute little mini By Terry x Mecca Beauty Loop Baume De Rose (2.3g)). This shampoo and mask set is $86, but at this moment, it is sold out. You can also get Briogeo products on Revolve.com, Beautylish.com, Cosmeticsnow.nz, etc. Mecca is most straightforward and shipping is fast.

How I find it

The Scalp Revival Shampoo smells like mint-choc ice cream and I live for it! It has a creamy texture and is light grey in colour with small, white exfoliating beads. For me, a shampoo without SLS is important because it strips my keratin treatment. This has peppermint and spearmint leaf oils to really freshen up the hair and scalp. The small beads gently exfoliates the scalp and cleanses the hair.

I use a generous amount and just concentrate on the roots of my hair and scalp area so I avoid the ends. A gentle massage and then rinse off thoroughly, making sure the beads are all gone. My hair feels fresh and clean, just a little drying I feel, but for a scalp treatment shampoo, I won’t be using this every time I wash my hair anyway.

I was pleasantly surprised at how lightweight the Deep Conditioning Mask is! I was expecting a real thick cream, but it was more of a gel-cream that melts on my damp hair. It did not feel waxy and it washes out cleanly but still leaving my hair feeling smooth and soft – it wasn’t a slippery smooth feeling that feels like I haven’t washed the conditioner off properly, but it really did make my hair feel softer! I can’t wait to use more of it.

Overall

I am very satisified with my purchase of this duo – both of these products I have been wanting to try and did not disappoint. I was about the purchase another set which contains their detox shampoo and the corresponding conditioner, but I saw the reviews that the conditioner was a little drying on the hair so I didn’t go ahead with that set. I also have oily roots and dry ends, so I do need more moisture and hydration on my ends and cleansing on near my roots.

I don’t use the detox shampoo often, maybe once every 2 weeks because it does feel a little stripping so I only use it for a deep cleanse. The conditioning mask however, I can use every time I wash my hair (twice a week) and I only apply it to the mid-lengths and ends. It’s not a miracle product and does not ‘mend’ or ‘fix’ split ends, but it does smooth out my hair and make it more manageable. I can feel the smoothness even when I blow-dry my hair! LOVE IT.
