L’Occitane Intensive Repair Enriched Infused Oil

Where I got it

I recently visited L’Occitane to just check out the new Happy Cherry Blossom fragrance (which I purchased a small travel set) and also had a look at their other products. I knew that they recently launched haircare products in the Almond scent, but because their shampoo has SLS, which I cannot use, I did not purchase them. I had a look at their other hair products though and I saw this (in the bigger size initially because it has these dried rose petals). I decided to get the 50ml because 100ml is way too big and I know I only need about 3 drops of this for my hair. With the 50ml, you just don’t get the rose petals inside. The 50ml is $32, and the 100ml is $55, so the bigger size is better value for money.

How I find it

I love hair oils after I shampoo my hair, but I am really careful not to use too much because there is no way back if you applied to much. So after shampoo and conditioning, I towel dry my hair and wrap it up with my micro-fibre towel while I get dressed. I then let my hair hair down and apply 3 drops of this hair oil. 3 drops is plenty for my whole hair and I have long hair as well. I apply from the mid lengths to ends only and not close to the scalp. Then I let that sit for a few minutes when I do my skincare routine. Then I blow dry my hair as usual. I do use a tangle teezer wet brush to give my hair a tidy up before I blow dry.

My hair feels manageable and smooth with the oil and I usually would add one drop in my palms and run it through the ends as last step to control the frizz and fly aways. If I use more than 3 drops on damp hair, it makes my hair way to greasy and oily that it’s just disgusting. The smell of this hair oil is exactly the same as their shampoo and conditioner in the Intensive Repair range. I love the way it smells and it does linger for a while.

Overall

I have been using this hair oil for a few weeks now and I have decieded that I like to use this hair oil as a finishing oil instead of a pre-blowdry product. I prefer a creamy product for blow-drying that gives my hair a little bit more heat-protection (this doesn’t really). For a few weeks, I have been using this on damp hair and then blow-dry. However, overnight, I did not see my hair was smooth or silky or glossy. So I decided to use this as a finising oil while my hair is dry to add shine and a little bit of control.  Using the hair oil like that I would use about 3-4 drops, spread it very evenly on my palms and then run my fingers through my hair from mid-lengths and ends.
