Natasha Denona Bronze Eyeshadow Palette

Where I got it

I ordered this on Beautylish on 12/7 and it arrived on 22/7. This was USD$65 with free shipping from the Beautylish website which came to NZD$118.88 with the current currency exchange. Sephora is selling this palette for $127. However, shortly after I ordered the palette, Sephora announced a 20% off site-wide offer and I was gutted. I could’ve got this for $101.60 and faster shipping as well! Oh well, nothing I can do about that now, hopefully, this palette is worth the money like everyone else says it does.

How I find it

First of all, the packaging is sleek and gorgeous. It’s not too obnoxious and it has a good mirror size and the pan sizes are all very decent and there isn’t much empty space around the palette. The top cover is very fingerprint-prone so it will get filthy very fast. It’s a magnetic closure which might be a little risky when going traveling, so I would keep this safe or put a rubber band around it if needed.

There is a total of 5 matte shades and Beach being the lightest shade from the lot, it is probably the best base shade. Suntan, Sundown, Ridge are all very nice medium shades for the transition if you don’t want to go too shimmery or metallic. Shades like True Copper, Alloy, True Bronze, and Silk are definitely highlighting shades to give that pop of shine/shimmer/glittery look. The duo-chrome shades have a very easy to wear duo-chrome look, no green or blue reflects which makes this palette really user-friendly if you are not into funky shades and even if you are not quite at a professional level.

I have created 3 looks that I would wear either on a daily basis or going out. Just a heads-up, I hardly go partying so I don’t really do glam looks or smokey eye looks.

For the first look, I used Beach all over the eyelid area, then I used Palladium all over the centre of the lid and I used a little bit of Magma  to the outer corners of my eyes, just dabbing it on. Nice and simple 3 shade eye-look.

First look

For the second look, I decided to go a little deeper, and red-toned. I used Beach for all over base colour, then I used a little bit of Magma, a medium-dark umber to the outer corner and then I used Palladium, a warm, pinkish tapue to the centre of my eyes and I used a little bit of Gloaming on top as well to intensify the metallic shine. I used liquid eyeliner for this look as well.

Second look

And the third and final look, I decided to go a little more glittery, a little more sparkly. I focused on using Silk, a foiled champagne, and also topped it off with True Bronze, a foiled bronze. I also added some of True Bronze on the bottom of my eyes to add a bit of sparkle. Then I also used Deep Dive to softly line my eyes. My iPhone camera doesn’t really do that shimmer justice, but it is more sparkly in real life. I really like this look as I didn’t build up the intensity of the shade, I left is quite light coloured as I only used Beach as the base and then used the shimmery shades over it. It’s brightening on my face and it’s not too glamourous.

Third look

Overall

I love the formula of all the shadows and they are really consistent. I did not encounter any shades that don’t have a good payoff or the formula is a bit off. There are some similar shades with a slightly different shimmer or shift, when swatched they look different, but when applied on the eyes, they are actually quite similar. I would prefer one lighter shade like a bone shade for the brow bone area or as a base, but I guess you can use your own shade than matches your skin tone. Also maybe a lighter champagne shade for the inner corners? For the matte shades, I would definitely use a brush to apply, but for the shimmery or glittery ones, I would use my fingertips because that works the best and with less fallout.

The palette is clearly very warm toned with 2 cool toned darker shades on the top right hand corner. The colours are more golden, less bronze I would say and the shades are leaning more towards medium to deep intensity. For a high-quality eyeshadow palette like this, 15 shades in decent sized pans, if you are able to get it on Sephora 20% off sale, it is just around $100 which is about $6.60 per shade (1.28g). This palette will last me a few years.
