L’Oréal Glow Chérie and Melon Dollar Baby

Where I got it

I was browsing in my local Chemist Warehouse for the latest new products and I saw these. I have seen these on Instagram a few months ago and they are finally here! I don’t think I’ve seen these at Farmers yet, but they should be here anytime soon. The Glow Chérie Glow Enhancer is $14.69 (RRP$24.99) and the Mellon Dollar Baby Blush is $17.49 (RRP29.99), which is pretty good price compared to the usual prices in Farmers, etc.

What I got

This is the latest launch from L’Oréal, the Glow Chérie Natural Glow Enhancer and Melon Dollar Baby Skin Awakening Blush. I’m not exactly sure why L’Oréal is launching these separately from the Bonjour Nudista Skin Tint and the Life’s A Peach blush products because they are very similar and obviously can be within the same collection in my opinion (same packaging and same sort of vibes). Nevertheless, the Nudista Skin Tint is more of a tinted moisturiser and the Glow Cherie is a liquid illuminiser so they are different I guess. But the blushes are simply a different shade and different scent.

Anyway, I love the packagaing of both of these products – the colours and the tubes really appeal to me. The watermelon pink blush shade is also very very pretty, with this pricetag from the Chemist Warehouse, I picked it up straightaway. Honestly, I haven’t been picking up L’Oréal products elsewhere because they seem so overpriced.

How I find it

Glow Chérie Natural Glow Enhancer. This glow enhancer comes in a 3 different shades (light, medium and dark) and this is Light Glow. Instantly luminises and hydrates for an all-over fresh, healthy glow. Enriched with watermelon extract, the creamy formula smooths skin and blurs imperfections to deliver a radiant shine. The formula contains light reflecting particles that give an instant glow. The nourishing fluid is an absolute all-rounder giving your skin an immediate radiance boost, evens out complexion and the appearance of imperfections is blurred. At the same time, the enriched with watermelon extract formula nourishes and protects the skin and moisturises for up to 24 hours. The fluid is suitable for all skin types, is long wearing and contains a cocktail of natural ingredients.

This Glow Enhancer has a lovely gentle scent that is not overpowering and the glow it gives is really beautiful and natural looking. You can build it up to get a more obvious glowing effect and it would not look cakey. The formula is qurie hydrating and can be blended out easily without moving your foundation around. I like to use this mixed with my moisturiser or a tinted moisturiser. Otherwise on its own because the glow it gives is a little too subtle to be mixed into foundations. Add a couple dots on the cheekbones and Cupid’s bow and it gives a really luminous, healthy skin look.

Melon Dollar Baby Skin Awakening Blush. This is shade 03 Watermelon Addict (similar product is the Life’s A Peach Blush). Wake up and makeup with L’Oréal Paris Melon Dollar Baby Blush! The perfect blush powder to softly awaken complexion with a juicy watermelon glow. The soft, velvety texture allows for ultra-blendable application, rich colour pay-off and long lasting results. The scented blush is infused with watermelon scent for the ultimate sensorial experience. Suitable for all skin tones.

Super cute name, emboss and colour of this blush just makes me feel happy! The gentle scent makes this such a joy to use. It is a finely milled pressed powder blush that glides on smoothly and gives a nice flush of matte colour on the cheeks. Not shimmery and does not leave a sheen in the skin.

Overall

I know I always fall into a trap of buying the latest products (within reasonable price range of course), especially highlighters! I’m such a huge sucker for highlighters, liquid illuminates, you know what I mean. I have heaps of these at home at the moment that I will never be able to finish! Honestly, I have similar ones like this in my vanity somewhere but I have forgotten about it or I just wanted to try something new.

Anyway, what I’m trying to say is, I might eventually forget about this because it looks and feels so much like a lot of other highlighters and illuminizers. However, if you are not a hoarder like me, and you only need one or two highlighter in your collection, this is a very good multi-purpose one that you can try. It gives a good sheer effect and can be built up for a more obvious glow. It can be mixed into your moisturiser, foundation, sunscreen, tinted moisturiser, primer, etc. It can be used on its own without looking like a disco ball.
