Where I got it

I got this from my local Mecca Maxima for $48, it is one of the new products stocked at Mecca for Glow Recipe. Mecca has only started getting Glow Recipe products about a month ago and they only bought in the blueberry cleanser, the avocado sleeping mask, the watermelon sleeping mask and the pink juice moisturiser. This mist is what I’ve been waiting to try because I’ve seen so many great reviews on this and it just looks so pretty!

What I got

This is the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Ultra-Fine Mist (75ml). Immerse skin into a hydrating watermelon mist so ultra-fine and delicate, it envelops your skin like a dreamy morning fog. This formula is packed with a juicy blend of 84% watermelon, hyaluronic acid, and hibiscus AHAs to refresh skin and enhance makeup.

Besides looking pretty, this bi-phase mist combines two great things into something even better. Shake it before you spray it to mix up the nourishing-oil layer with the water-based active extracts for a haze of softening, smoothing, and illuminating hydration. You’ll love this facial mist for its ability to enhance your natural dewy glow and your makeup with a single spritz.

Free of: Parabens, Mineral Oil, Sulfates, Silicones, Phthalates, Alcohol, Synthetic Dyes. Vegan. Cruelty-free.

How I find it

This bottle is quite interesting if you haven’t already noticed, the spray nozzle is at the “bottom” of the bottle and it has a dual formula – water at the bottom and oil at the top. The bottom formula is generally clear, but the top part is mostly pink. As a hydrating mist, I usually use it after cleansing. After toner. I apply a hyaluronic acid serum then quickly mist this all over my face for the hyaluronic acid to suck it up. Then I apply other serums and creams over it while my skin is still damp (not dripping wet). Otherwise, I use it as a hydrating mist during the day.

The water-based formula provides hydration and the oil-based formula seals it in. The mist is so ultra-fine, you need to use a couple of spritzes to feel the product on your skin. It is absorbed moderately quick by the skin leaving you with a bit of time to apply serums and essences before your skin dries up. The watermelon scent is beautiful and quite realistic but does not linger on which is great.

Overall

That ultra-fine mist is to die for!! You can mist this so many times without feeling you have put your face through a shower. It is so addictive to use – the smell, the mist, the hydration! I’m so repurchasing this after its done, and I wonder if I can open it up and put other products in there? I don’t dare put it out because I’m sure my boys would be so intrigued and want to try it on themselves.

I really like this type of dual-phased hydrating mists because it does just provide moisture on the face, it also provides a fine layer of oil to lock it in so if you have a dry environment, it doesn’t suck the hydration out of your face. This is very lightweight oil and the proportion is small compared to the water-based part so it’s not going to feel oily or greasy on the skin at all.
