Tatcha Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil

Where I got it

I got this from the mini aisle in the Sylvia Park Mecca Maxima for $26. The full-size product is 150ml for $83 which is a little expensive for a cleansing oil IMO. I do have 1 or 2 cleansing oils or balms that I already love and are affordable. But let’s see how this performs!

What I got

This is a 25ml bottle of the Tatcha Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing OilGentle, yet highly effective, this cleansing formulation features a blend of ultra-nourishing, moisture-replenishing botanical oils that melt away dirt, makeup and impurities whilst leaving skin super smooth and touchably soft. The first step in Tatcha’s signature double-cleanse ritual, this botanical cleansing oil acts to effectively dissolve all traces of makeup (even waterproof!), debris and impurities to leave skin comfortably clean and silky soft. A moisture-replenishing blend of Japanese camellia oil and rice bran oil come together, alongside Tatcha’s antioxidant-rich Hadasei-3 complex, to purify, smooth and utterly beautify skin.

How I find it

The packaging even for a mini-sized version is really high quality. It comes with a lid for a pump bottle. The cleansing oil has a very faint yellow tinge but generally very clear. It feels smooth and fluid as a cleansing oil, it glides onto the skin easily and dissolved makeup without having to rub the skin vigorously. I use it on my eye area too and I have no issues with that.

Overall

Quite a nice cleansing oil, it has a thicker consistency to the ones I usually use therefore it take a little more product and time to spread this around my skin and work the makeup off. It takes most of my face makeup off effectively, but I do need extra help to my eyeliner and waterproof mascara. I do like to remove my eye makeup separately because I sometimes I do wear those tubing mascaras which is removable with water and if I use oil over it, it almost melts the mascara and will not remove as tubes from the lashes, but you get these really hard to remove dark marks under the eyes (do you know what I mean??).

I use about 5-6 pumps from this small packaging, but the instructions does say 2-3 pumps which I do not think is enough. As a 25ml bottle, this did last me quite a few uses (around 3-4 weeks if I use 5-6 pumps a day, every day), so I am quite happy with. However, I don’t think I will go for the full size bottle because I do prefer other cleansing oils such as Shiseido, MAC, Dermalogic, Simple, Hadalabo, Clinique.
