Mecca Max Glow Powder Highlighting Duo

Where I got it

I have been interested in these when they launched just a few months ago, but have not go around buying them. When Mecca has a Boxing Day sale for 50% off, I grabbed the two shades that would suit my skin tone. These are $14 each after discount.

How I find it

The packaging of these highlight duos is really nice and simple. It is slim and easy to see what shade you are picking up. The embossing is the highlighter is super pretty and as you can see these are quite shimmery, almost duo-chrome highlighters. The shades are really beautiful and are generally in the golden, pinky and champagne tones.

Rose Radiance is the lightest duo in the collection of 3. The left shade is an iridescent pink, and the right shade is a shimmery pale pink. This duo is great for lighter skin tones.

Pink Spark is the medium duo in the collection. The left shade is almost the same as the right shade of the Rose Radiance. The right shade is a much deeper pinky-bronze. I can’t really imagine using this as highlighter

Overall

The shades look beautiful and they swatch beautifully too, but the formula is slightly powdery and kick up too much pigment. I tried using a fan brush which just flicks pigment everywhere. I also tried using a round pointed highlighter brush which is much softer and it works much better (still lots of kick up). The shades show up on my skin very beautifully and it can be used sparingly for a subtle highlight or layered on for a more intense duo-chrome highlighter effect.
