Maybelline Dream Matte Blush

Where I got it: A recent new find in the Maybelline stall at The Chemist Warehouse. This may have been there for a while now, but since the little corner for this blush is quite small, and hidden within the range of dream matte products, I did not notice it. This blush comes in 4 shades and was $14.99.

What I got: This is the Maybelline Dream Matte Blush in 40 Mauve Intrigue. This creamy balm-to-powder cheek tint seamlessly blends into the skin for a soft matte effect.

How I find it: This blush comes in a little glass pot with a plastic screw lid. I tested the shades out on the back of my hand at the store and this shade seems very wearable for me. The formula is really smooth, almost creamy or mousse-like. The first few swatches felt a little oily and glossy on the skin, but after a few more swatches, the product texture felt more like mousse and more matte. I like to use either my fingers or a dense blush brush to apply the product.

Overall: You can surely build up the product but with dabbing motion rather than swiping or circular motion because of it’s cream-to-powder formula. The pigmentation is just right, it is not too bold and is buildable to the intensity you desire. All the other shades are so beautiful as well, they have a pink one, a berry-tone one and a coral one. A very natural looking blush that has a beautiful matte finish and no shimmer. However, it’s not the longest lasting formula as it faded from my skin during the day especially where some areas of my cheeks are a little oily. Nonetheless, I love the shades, I love the cute packaging and I love the finish. I might get the other coral shade as well.
