Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow

Where I got it: I got this from the Mecca Maxima store in Albany Mega Centre for $38. They have so many beautiful shades available! They have Shimmer & Glow and Glitter & Glow, so don’t get them mixed up. Glitter & Glow is more glittery and sparkly while the Shimmer & Glow is more a finer shimmer. Both are gorgeous though and it just really depends on what look you want.

What I got: This is the new Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow in Sunset Cove. Take your shadow game up a notch with this liquid glitter formulation, developed to completely saturate lids with unparalleled sparkle. And the best bit? No fallout in sight! This ultra-pigmented shadow delivers the ultimate disco ball lids in a single swipe and dries almost instantly to lock in weightless shine.

How I find it: I have seen countless amazing reviews from beauty gurus on YouTube like Tati from GlamLifeGuru (she loves these). I tried out a couple of shades and this seems to be the only shade I would be able to wear during the day and at night. Sunset Cove is a “cool mid-tone pink with duo-chrome bright gold pearl”. You can use this all over the lids, at the centre to make the eye colour pop, as a topper shade to create a glittery look or as an inner corner highlighter. It can be layered on for an intense look or sheered out for a lighter wash of colour and gentle shimmer. So you really need an eyeshadow primer as the formula stays put really well and the glitter is so fine and not chunky.

The eyeshadow stays on amazingly for the entire day until you take it off or rub rigorously. I did see very small, fine glitter particles in my undereye area at the end of the day, but so minuscule that you can’t really see unless you are very close. Removal is also a breeze (unlike removing glitter nail polish – that’s a PAIN!), I just use a normal eye makeup remover on a cotton pad, leave for about 5-10 seconds and then wipe off. Now the cotton pad looks beautiful. Another wipe with the other side of the cotton pad and my eyes are clean (depending on whether you were other shades and/or waterproof eyeliner, mascara, etc.).

Overall: Oh sooooo beautiful! I think I will order more shades (I want Wanderlust!!) The formula just blows my mind! It is glittery, sparkly but not chunky or patchy. It applies easily and is really pigmented. It allows you to blend without drying too fast and blending the product doesn’t flake away or sheer out its intensity at all. I like to use an eyeshadow primer underneath to really bring out the opacity of the beautiful pinky base tone and just use a small brush to blend the edges. I usually don’t wear bright colours or glitter, especially around my eyes, but this is just too pretty to go by and the effect it has on the eyelid is just beautiful without looking like kids makeup. I have yet to try this over a dark eyeshadow but I don’t think I will before I publish this post because I usually don’t wear dark eyeshadow. You really need to go to Mecca and swatch these to see for yourself.
